Chapter 31 - 1st Birthday

Bulma and ChiChi were flustering around the place Bulma had hired out a private venue for Kaka's first birthday. ChiChi was helping organise the banners and balloons, she had Trunks and Goten help pinning them up around the room; whilst Bulma was on the phone sorting out the entertainers time schedule. Trunks and Goten looked around the venue, before looking at each other.
"What a fuss for a baby" Trunks rolled his eyes as he grabbed a balloon from ChiChi to pin up on the wall.
"Is he even going to remember this?" Goten asked as he continued to look around the room.
"Of course not, he's a baby!"
"Do you think he'll remember how he was born?"
Trunks taken back by his friend "are you serious?!"
"What?!"
"Do you remember being born?"
"Well no...but maybe he may know and tell us?"
Trunks face palmed.
ChiChi looked up to see the two boys just hovering there, she interrupted them with a cough glaring at them.
"You know, we could get this done a lot quicker if you two stopped getting distracted?!" She tapped her foot watching them both look at each other and giggle nervously.
"Bulma is all this necessary?" Yamcha looked around the room, there was different types of buffets, bouncy castles, toys and different entertainments all listed on a board.
"Yamcha it's his first birthday! I don't care what Vegeta said, I helped deliver  so of course I like to make a big deal! Now are you going to help us or you going to slack with the men who are trying to hide?" She glared over at rest who were sat far away, the looked at her nervously and tried to hide again.
"Think she spotted us?" Krillin asked as  piccolo and Gohan face palmed as they could still sense Bulma glaring over at them.
Yamcha ran over to them laughing nervously.
"Hey Gohan, since it's your baby brothers birthday party shouldn't you be helping too?"
"And deal with my mother barking orders as it's not a certain way? I've left that to Goten" he chuckled

The party was all set up, there were other children and their parents there. Bulma seemed to know them all as she welcomed them all, soon as she saw Goku walk in carrying Kaka she rushed over and hugged them both.
"How's the birthday boy?!" Bulma smiled as Kaka reached his arms out to her, Goku passed Kaka to her as Goten rushed up to hug his father. ChiChi followed with Gohan and videl.
"Where's Vegeta?" Gohan asked his father.
"Oh he'll be here soon.." he scratched back of his head.
Bulma wandered off with Kaka cuddling him, she loved him like one of her own, it was perhaps to do with the fact she was there at his birth. Trunk grew envy as his mother fussed over Kaka a lot, he also hated the fact Yamcha was living with them and he didn't really spend much time with his mother it was if they were just friends. Bulma walked up to Trunks who was sat staring at the five tier birthday cake, it looked over the top.
"Trunks!" Kaka screamed out waving at his brother. Bulma smiled as she placed Kaka down to walk over to his brother. He tugged on Trunks trouser leg, trunks looked up at his mother who gave him an encouraging smile, he kneeled down to his brother level and smiled.
"Happy birthday" he gave Kaka a hug.

Goku caught up with his old friends, whilst Kaka was being fussed over by everyone in the room.
"So how come the other daddy isn't here?" Yamcha asked Goku, Goku smiled nervously and looked around.
"I'd be surprised if he even bothers showing up" piccolo folded his arms watching Goku look around the room laughing nervously.
"Well, he wanted to do some training before coming here so I thought it was only fair I let him" Goku lied what really happened was Vegeta had a massive rant how he felt a birthday party the kid will forget was pointless. Goku tried to nag him to come even for a little while, vegeta told him he'd think about it.
"So you guys gonna have any more?" Krillin asked causing everyone to stare at him in horror.
"Yeah, we haven't really talk about it, besides Vegeta is more scary when pregnant" goku chuckled a little.
They all continued talking away, Yamcha headed outside he couldn't be bothered being part of the party either. He leaned against the wall having a drink, Vegeta landed in front of him glaring about to go in.
"You look just as excited as I do" Yamcha laughed a little
"Hm, Whatever" Vegeta stormed in, Yamcha followed behind.
"Heard you were training" Yamcha tapped Vegetas shoulder causing Vegeta to turn facing him
"What?"
"Yeah, I didn't think so either, I think you really couldn't be bothered with this party. I mean look at it talk about over the top"
Vegeta smiled a little "that's Bulma for you"
"Wonder why Goku made up that lie about you though..."
"What's it with you sticking your nose in our business?!" Vegeta glared at him
"Just wondering is all..." Yamcha quickly walked out, vegeta shook his head in annoyance and turned to see Kaka dancing with his friends, he was full of smiles, no sense of direction as he bumped into the other toddlers.
"Just like his father" vegeta grinned as he looked over to where Goku was, he seen they were all having a laugh.
"Hey!"
Vegeta jumped and turned to see Bulma smiling at him.
"You finally decided to show huh?" She smiled giving him a hug.
"Of course, it is my sons birthday after all!" Vegeta snapped.
"You should probably go over and spend time with Trunks, I think he's jealous of his baby brother"
Vegeta looked over to see Trunks sat by himself as Goten was playing happily with their brother. He walked over to him and tapped him on the shoulder. Trunks looked up to see his dad.
"Oh hey dad"
"What's up with you?"
"Nothing, just think this is a stupid party..."
Vegeta laughed, he agreed it was bit over the top but he could see his one year old enjoying himself.
"Hey dad, you don't plan to have any more do you?"
"Ha! Definitely not you don't need to worry about that" vegeta gave his eldest a reassuring smile and grabbed a chair to sit next to him "you know I love you and your brother equally right?"
"Yeah" he sighed "it's just annoying seeing all fuss on him and then there's the part of sharing a brother with my best friend, that feels kinda weird"
"You'll get used to it"
"How do you know?"
"Because you'll have to" vegeta smirked at his son ruffling his hair "you'll be fine"
Kaka saw his dad and brother sat on their own, he ran up to them smiling. Vegeta smiled and looked over at Trunks. Trunks smiled back he then lifted his brother up for a cuddle.
Evening drew in and all guests were starting to leave, goku had sleeping Kaka in his arms. Bulma couldn't help but stroke the sleeping toddlers cheeks.
"You know if you wake him, you're dealing with him woman!" Vegeta grinned watching her coo over their son.
"Sorry! He's just so gorgeous!" She smiled she then looked over to see sleeping Trunks and Goten "Of course you both seem to do good job at making cute babies" she winked at them both.
Yamcha came in to help with tidying up, as goku handed Kaka to Vegeta to help ChiChi sort out the gifts. Bulma headed over to the sleeping boys.
"Is it just me or is Goku getting close to Bulma and ChiChi?" Yamcha leaned over to Vegeta. Vegeta raised a brow and turned to face Yamcha.
"What are you trying to imply now?! He's always been close to them!"
"And that doesn't worry you?"
"No, you're with Bulma now anyway so shouldn't you be focusing on that?"
"Yeah, but she's not been the same since your son was born, she spends a lot of time with Goku notice how she smiles whenever he looks at her?"
"You're just paranoid!" Vegeta scoffed as he walked away cradling his sleeping toddler.

As they headed back home, Goku tucked Kaka into bed as Vegeta tidied up a bit. He couldn't help but think what Yamcha said, he headed to his room seeing Goku getting ready for bed.
"Bulma has done amazing for Kaka's birthday" goku smiled as he jumped into bed.
"Why would you bring up that woman?"
"Huh?"
"You two seem to be a lot close, Is there something I need to know?"
"Bulma is one of my best friend, of course I'm close to her" goku scratched back of his head he couldn't understand what was going on with Vegeta.
"Hm" vegeta folded his arms glaring at Goku
"You know, you really shouldn't let Yamcha get to you" goku yawned and stretched
" who said he was?"
"Because whenever he speaks to one of us, this sort of conversation happens?"
Vegeta thought for a second, he was right, he should really trust his mate. He climbed into bed and rested his head on Goku's chest.
"He's such a dickhead!" Vegeta growled
Goku chuckled as he slowly closed his eyes.
