"Christine come out of there, its been over three minutes!" John called out knocking on the bathroom door where his worried wife was locked inside of, basically just staring at a pregnancy test in her hands, she had been taking them daily, panicking still that Mick had impregnated her, now she was late she was beyond paranoid and was sure she was experiencing symptoms "Chris, Stevie gets released today for rehab, we need to get ready and I think Lindsey is back from his dirty holiday with Carol Ann!" John chuckled trying to lighten the mood.

"Shut up John!" She snapped and felt tears stinging the edges of her eyes, she was so upset and overwhelmed, angry too and John instantly suspected  she had got the result she was hoping not to have which made his heart sink, none of them wanted it this way.

He slowly slid open the bathroom door and took in how she was sat on the edge of the bathtub looking down at the test in her hands "Chrissy?" He said softly, walking over and rubbing her back but she just shook her head and looked down in response, she couldn't speak or even mage to jumble a sentence together "Maybe its wrong honey, why don't you see a doctor, you are probably just late or convincing yourself!" John suggested.

"Fuck off, I am not some crazy bitch convincing myself, just shut up, we will be over if I really am, everything will be fucked, this is Lindsey's fault, I will kill him and the shit drugs he gave to Mick and I!" She exclaimed, angrily standing up and throwing the test at the wall, wanting to scream.

"Hey, don't throw things, you still have stitches in your wrist!" John soothed, slowly grabbing her arms and she stared at him, a mix of emotions showing on her face, she did look a mess, her blonde hair was messy and her eyeliner was streaked down her face, it was obvious she had been crying from how red her eyes looked too "We wont be over either, drunken mistakes happen, look how I nearly ruined our entire marriage because of my drinking!"

"I'm not a fucking angel in all this John!" Christine sniffled "We just got back on track as friends again, actually talking and sleeping in the same bed again!" She stated "You will really want to touch me if I'm knocked up to Mick?" She scoffed and wanted to pull away from John but at the same time she needed his touch.

"Christine, you know I love you, lets just stop stress, for once Stop thinking about tomorrow!" John chuckled and was happy to see her lips curl into a small smile.

"How can I not stress?" She frowned.

"Maybe a nice hot bath or shower and some marmalade toast sided with a warm tea?" John suggested, smiling and rubbing her arms to soothe her.

"That does sound nice but I need to start getting ready for Stevie's arrival!" She sighed.

"Its hours away babe, Mick will be picking her up, that's why he has let us stay here at his new house for a few weeks, to help settle Stevie in, I hope she likes the place!" John smiled.

"I think its lovely, it has that English charm with a touch of mystical things, Mick even bought Stevie some whimsical things!" Christine chuckled.

"He is really trying, you know Mick and I do anything to keep our ladies happy!" John smiled and kissed Christine softly.

"Even if I am carrying Mick's kid too? Will you still love me John?" Christine asked honestly.

"Accidents happen, we will get through it, we promised eachother all those vowels when we married, it will all be ok, so don't stress, come lay down and have some rest, just in case you are and if you aren't, well you need extra rest anyway!" John smiled and led her to the bed, kissing her softly "Now I will go fetch you some snacks!" He added and started walking off.

"John!" She exclaimed, pulling the blanket up.

"Yes honey?" He asked pausing and turning around to look at her.

"Thank you, I wish it would have been us that had sex that night, not me and Mick!" She stated "I'm still sorry!"

"Lets forget it, Mick has Stevie and I have you, the way it should be, a drug fuelled one night stand doesn't matter!" John smiled and left the room.

Christine sighed, her hand resting on her stomach as she started crying, the test had come back with a faint positive, she just didn't have the courage to tell anyone yet, her own mind was still reeling and she felt terrible over it all and she suspected John knew anyway, he had gotten so good at reading her and it wasn't half obvious from the state he found her in when he walked into the bathroom, she felt so lost still, despite what John had said, she wondered how any of it could work out.

She knew her supposed easiest option was to just get rid of the pregnancy, but she couldn't bring herself to even flutter over that idea. She still couldn't believe any of it and felt bad, mainly for John, he was being so sweet and she felt sorry for Stevie and Mick because they were on the way to have a proper relationship and Stevie was coming home today.
