"You mean you bought a new house for me?" Stevie asked, excited and shocked as she started realising he must have.

"For us, I thought we could try living together, because you know all the therapists said its best you don't live alone and you had to work out where you would be staying, I knew you lied and said you we staying with Christine, but I thought we have all toured together and shit like that before, so living together in a big cosy mansion shouldn't be an issue, I can pamper you and you wont feel lonely like you did in rehab!" Mick smiled, explaining quickly because he was actually nervous now that Stevie would be mad and think he was trying to control her like Lindsey had, but he was just looking out for her and felt clingy toward her. He did love her and wanted to spend as much time as he could with her, also look after her while she carried their child.  In a way Mick was proud that she was his soon to be mother of his child too and he was excited about the baby's upcoming birth.

"Really?" Stevie asked softly, taking it all in and feeling in a mix of shock and love.

Mick gulped "I didn't do it to be a controlling ass, I did it because I thought it would make things easier, Chris and John are there too until they work out their living situation!" Mick stuttered.  They were basically living there until they knew whether Christine was pregnant or not before they decided on their next step in life.

"So us, in a big house?" Stevie asked, trying to mask her feelings until she knew more.

" So its not just you and I, I know you want to take things slow and all that and please don't mistake this as me trying to control you, because its not that, I know you are your own free gypsy and I fully support that, I love you independence and think that's important in any type of relationship!" Mick said with a soft chuckle as he spoke at a quick pace and was about to speak again when Stevie's slender finger was pressed against his lips.

"You can stop explaining you big softie, its really sweet, thank you and thank you for your touching speech!" She giggled "You really are lovely and so supportive, thank you, I cant wait to see the house!" She said smiling widely and Mick felt relief fill him.

"Really?"

"Yes really, no one has ever done something so sweet and been so nice to me, thank you Mick!" She smiled and planted a warm kiss on his face while he tried to keep his composure and drive between the white lines, knowing they were nearly home.

"Babe are you nearly ready?" John asked through the bathroom door again and he suspected she had a positive pregnancy test earlier which was why she was so paranoid and he also suspected she was taking another.

Christine was sat on the toilet after doing her hair and make up, staring down at another pregnancy test she had just taken, she didn't know how she would look her best friend in the eye after all the weeks and all the guilt now followed by uncertainty.

"Chris, you cant bury your head like an ostrich in the sand or should I say a chicken in the dirt, if its positive, you need a doctor!" John said calmly but firmly.

Christine stood up and threw the test in the bin, still seeing numerous ones lurking at the bottom from her daily takings of them.  She just wished her period would come.  The amount of times her and John panicked when she was a few days late in the past after broken condoms and drunken nights but, this was worse.

"Christine!" John said louder and she opened the door annoyed.

"Too bad if I was doing coke!" She snapped.

"Well aren't we all!" John teased trying to lighten the mood and she rolled her eyes "Stop fretting ok, it will all work, look at Stevie and Mick!" John smiled and then remembered how Mick was the one who possibly impregnated Christine and he watched her raise her eyebrows.

"Is that meant to be funny?" She said coldy.

"No, anyway, I think I heard the car pull up, he must be here with Stevie!" John smiled awkwardly and then went and peered out the window, thankful when he did see Mick's car pulling into the driveway below "It is them, lets go down!"
