John wrapped his arm around Christine as he led her out of the hospital. She was leaning against him and holding the ultrasound picture that she was staring down at as she slowly walked, still trying to come to terms that the tiny little baby in the photo was growing inside of her and dealing with the fact that it was Mick's "How are you feeling, babe?" John asked rubbing her back to sooth her, sensing how tense and worried she was still over it all.
"Confused!" She shrugged.
"Just try to relax, stress wont be good for the baby and you know its there now and its fine so lets just focus on getting the take out and getting home to Mick's so you can eat and rest, its been a big day for you!" John smiled and placed a kiss in her hair.
"I'm pregnant and its not yours John, its a big shock for me!" She stated, annoyed in away that he seemed to be letting off it was not a big deal when it was to her.
"I know, but its gonna be ok, you have me and the rest of the gang to help!" He smiled and she burst into tears, so he stood in front of her, gently resting his hands on her shoulders "Don't you want the baby now Chris?" John asked quietly.
"Don't you want me to have it?" She snapped.
"Chris, I do want it, but only if you do!" He stated and cupped her face so she would look at him.
"I was so scared when I thought I was loosing it, I just wish it was yours and I don't want to break Stevie and Mick up, her and my friendship is already fragile John!" She sighed heavily, having a flurry of emotions washing through her still.
"Well just take some time and think about it all, its your choice, I will stand by you no matter what because I love you!" John smiled and kissed her softly, happy when she smiled softly at him "So lets got get the food and see how things are when we get back to the house, see if you are ready to tell Mick and Stevie!" John said, soothingly as he looked into her eyes.
Christine nodded and forced a small smile, she felt ready to explode but knew John was handling it all amazingly and he was doing his best to reassure her and support her and his loving eyes always soothed her "We could tell Mick, but not Stevie yet, I'm too early, if its obvious how unwell I am, we can say I have a flu!" Christine stated "But we shouldn't tell Mick either, he is a shitty liar and Stevie cant handle extra stress, fresh out of rehab, I don't want to put any strain on the pair of them, otherwise they don't even get a proper chance at rekindling their relationship!"
"You really are a wonderful friend Chris as well as being a wonderful wife!" John smiled and kissed her forehead softly but she shook her head and pulled back, feeling guilty as tears started to form.
"I'm not John, I'm a horrible friend, I had sex with Mick who is out friend while he was in some relationship with our other friend Stevie and I am a shit wife because I am knocked up to your best mate!" She stated, frowning and looking down at John's shoes, sniffling.
"Chrissy darling, that's not true, you aren't any of those things and everyone knows you and Mick were completely out of it, I still love you and will love the baby too, so will Mick and Stevie, so put a smile on that pretty face!" John cooed, gently tilting her head up to look at him as he then proceeded to wipe her tears away "Show me a smile!" He chuckled and was glad when she did actually smile, letting out a soft laugh, before she gently hugged him.
"I'm a mess, but thank you, you are wonderful!" She said into his shirt as she just enjoyed the warm embrace, then feeling him wrapping his arms around her and rubbing her back in a soothing manner.
"I love you Chris and will stand by you, everything will be ok, now lets go get that food, so I can get you home, fed and cuddled!" He smiled.
"Alright!" She laughed softly as she pulled back and smiled up at him then let him lead her and help her into the car.
"I was thinking pizza for us all!" John laughed as he got in and started the engine of the car.
"Good plan, I will be hungry once I relax!" She smiled softly, leaning back in her seat.
