It had been a whole week since Stevie had checked herself into rehab and Christine was sat with a glass of whiskey, worried sick about her best friend. Lying to everyone was beyond exhausting and she was panicking about Stevie, especially after having to lie to the band and saying she had taken off to Arizona for her family, making up a feeble excuse that they wanted to see her, she was so lonely without Stevie and she kept wondering about who the father of the baby was, she was even worrying that someone had forced themselves on Stevie and that was the reason for the secrecy, then the thought of John maybe being the daddy crossed her mind but she knew Stevie wouldn't sleep with her own ex-husband like she wouldn't sleep with Lindsey .
She sipped the drink and swallowed the harsh liquor, almost choking when there was a knock on the door, she wished it was Stevie "Who is it?" she slurred wondering if it was John being desperate again and she started placing her glass on the side table next to the chair with a loud clink.
"Its me!" Mick called out "Please let me in!"
She exhaled and got up, stumbling over to the door, things were odd now with Mick after their one night stand and she cringed every time she thought about it "Hellooo?" she said dazed as she unlatched and opened the door and stumbled. Mick tutted and then helped her over to the couch and sat her down.
"You are off your fucking face!" He exclaimed.
"Your not my Daddy Mick, if I wanna get pissed, I fucking can!" She glared and picked her glass up, staring at him as she gulped the whiskey and he closed his eyes in annoyance.
"What's up your ass?" He asked.
"Not your cock!" She remarked and Mick realised she was probably still angry about their night together or she had found out about him being with Stevie.
"Chris, we don't recall the evening, I am sorry I made you feel like a toy!" He muttered and sat beside her, rubbing her back gently and she held back crying.
"You might have gotten me pregnant Mick!" She blurted out in a shaky whisper but she was worried sick over the same fate that Stevie had, even if the chances were low, it was still possible and she just felt like she was even though it was so soon.
"What, aren't you on the pill or infertile or something?" He exclaimed dropping his hand off her like she was poisonous.
She just shook her head and started crying "I don't know!" she murmured "I just want Stevie here, I miss her!" She wept and Mick pulled her close.
"Chrissy, it will be ok, I will pay for you to get rid of it if you are knocked up, I'm sorry!" He soothed but she sprung from his embrace and smacked his arm away.
"Fuck you Mick, you think its that easy, I couldn't do that, not after what Stevie is going through for hers!" She yelled throwing her arms about as she stood up hastily from the couch.
"What, what about Stevie?" Mick asked and Christine slapped her hand over her mouth. Mick replayed the words Christine had shouted over and over in his head and added up the oddity of the situation and he saw Christine's hand resting on her own stomach and it all made sense "Stevie is pregnant?" Mick gasped and Christine chewed on her bottom lip looking away and gulping harshly "Fuck, she is pregnant, tell me the truth Christine, I know she is now, is she alright, is she sick, Christine, please tell me!" Mick exclaimed standing up in front of the older blonde.
Christine darted her glance away from him, she knew she blew it "Don't say I said anything, I fucked up, I'm off my face!" she sighed.
"Where is she, just tell me Christine fucking McVie!" Mick exclaimed.
"She's is rehab, she wants to have the kid, so be easy on her!" Christine exhaled defeatedly, giving in and being honest.
"I need to see her, what rehab?" Mick half yelled, knowing the baby was his instantly.
"I cant tell you!" Christine exclaimed turning her head again.
"You will tell me, because I truly think, its my baby!" Mick replied quickly.
