"Chris!" Stevie exclaimed, rubbing her best friend's back as she sobbed "You have nothing to be sorry about!" Stevie reassured as she pulled back and rubbed Christine's arms before wiping away her tears. She never usually got that upset, she barely cried either, only when it was something that really upset her.
"I am sorry though, I fucked everything up for you!" Christine stammered, sniffling.
"You haven't fucked anything up Chris!" Stevie cooed to her as she cupped her face.
Christine tried her best to pull herself together, she felt bad that she was breaking down after Stevie just got out of rehab finally "I am sorry anyway!" She smiled softly.
"Are you alright?" Stevie asked worried about Christine and wondering what was going on with her.
Christine felt even worse for seeming to dump stress on Stevie and she decided to do her best to pull herself together and she nodded "I am fine, I just regret not coming to see you in rehab, I am such a shit friend and I'm so sorry!" She stated and took Stevie's hands, sniffling as she looked at her.
"Chris, its really alright, please don't be sad or I will cry too!" Stevie giggled gently cupping Christine's face after freeing her hand and she softly wiped some of the taller blonde's tears away, smiling lovingly at her.
Christine felt more pangs of guilt because Stevie was always such a loving and kind friend to her and she worried so much her own pregnancy would ruin their friendship and she felt heart broken at the thought of losing Stevie as her best friend but she tried to push those thoughts to the back of her mind, Stevie was out of rehab, it was her first night and Christine needed to pull herself together "I don't want sweet wonderful you crying, I am glad you are so sweet and forgiving Stevie!" She smiled and kissed her cheeks softly and then gave her a gentle peck on the lips before smiling at her lovingly.
"You are the best friend I ever had and will ever, so don't you cry!" Stevie giggled and playfully poked Christine's tear stained cheeks and she giggled but also felt guilty still, Stevie was so sweet.
"Come on you emotional ladies, once you pair get some of this nice food in you both, you will stop crying!" John chuckled and Christine gave him a death stare, thinking he was hinting that the unborn baby inside of her needed feeding and John gulped, feeling bad, because he hadn't meant that but knew Christine assumed he was meaning a joke about her being pregnant.
Mick also picked up on the tension and was worried too, not about Stevie though, she was joyous and glowing, he was worried about Christine who seemed moody and sullen.
"I am starving and this little ballerina needs feeding!" Stevie giggled, rubbing her very tiny baby bump, proudly and affectionately.
"So you think its a girl then?" John asked, smiling and trying to put on a happy façade, he was happy for Stevie.
"No, I'm not sure what it is, as long as its healthy!" Stevie smiled.
"I just thought when you said ballerina!" John chuckled.
"John, boy or girl, it can still be a ballerina, gosh, are you really so sexist, the baby could be anything it wants to be no matter what gender it is!" Stevie stated and John felt bad, now he had unintentionally managed to piss both women off in a matter of moments.
"I know, sorry Steph, it all came out the wrong way, of course the baby can be what it wants, Christine wears suits and Mick wears skirts, so fuck stereotypes!" John chuckled, trying to make a joke out of his own blunder but he felt he was digging himself into a deeper hole.
Mick easily laughed but Stevie and Christine looked at him annoyed and Stevie just gave a polite smile, not knowing if John was being drunk and idiotic or just wording things wrong, but she needed to go to the bathroom anyway. Christine watched her walk away and waited until she heard the echoing click of the bathroom door "Who gives a fuck who wears what, just because you boys think you are so superior with your stupid cocks!" Christine basically hissed at Mick and John "Chauvinistic assholes, knock her up and leave her with a baby, that's the joke isn't it!" She snapped and stormed off, feeling on the verge of crying.
"Chris!" John exclaimed about to hurry after her when Mick grabbed his arm.
"What the fuck is with her today?" Mick asked, still concerned she was pregnant to him.
"Her name is Christine fucking McVie, is there any other reason for her to be moody?" John joked, still trying to do his best to lie for her until she was ready to tell Mick about the baby and decided if she was keeping it.
"I know there is more to it, she is barely holding back her man hate in front of Stevie who just got out of rehab, is she drunk or high on something?" Mick asked, not able to ask John outright if she was pregnant.
"Yes, I think she snorted too much coke and you know what she gets like, so I will go calm her, just shelter Stevie from Christine's storminess for now!" John smiled and darted off to find his wife in a hurry.
