Sultry in Sage
"I came as soon as you said." I walked into the large chamber, my head covered by my black hood and my mouth shrouded by the thin, black cloth.
"Is Morpheus alright?" Narray asked me with concern and I nodded.
Casseus had sent word that Morpheus had had an attack at the bank and that our cousin had something of great concern to tell us. I'd cut my nap short and quickly rushed over to the hotel.
Morpheus had explained his vison to me- the statue, the necklace and the soul. It was all so strange, but deep down, I knew that this had been one of his very rare visions. Morpheus and Ash were dramatic- definitely- but they wouldn't overdramatise something this important.
After I discussed everything with the twins, Claudeus had mentioned that Narray had wanted to see me tonight about something important. I'd quickly bid them goodnight and made my way across the rooftops towards the grand manor. Keya was at a party with the other inner circle members and most of the girls were working- their doors shut and the manor fairly quiet.
"He's fine. Just a bit shaken and weak." I smiled at my dear friend and leaned in for a hug. "Are you okay? How have you been?"
"Me? I'm not the one doing daring exploration." Narray examined my eyes and shook her head; "Theia, are you sure you still want to go through with all of this?"
"It's too late to stop now." And I wasn't even going to contemplate it. I needed to finish this.
"You know that's not true." She countered and raised her brow at me. "Be honest; you look shaken."
I stared at her for a bit, but then finally gave in. I sighed and my shoulders dropped. "It's not the trial- it's... It's Mal."
"What is it?" She asked with wide eyes and directed me towards the neatly made bed. I didn't really want to sit on a brothel bed, but then again, it's not like Narray was actually using it. "Is Simos complicating things?"
"What?" I asked with surprise. "How did-"
"Come on. I was right from the very start." Narray shook her head at me. "Mal and Simos are in love with you. Okay, maybe not Simos, because you barely know each other, but Malreus is so far gone it's actually sad."
"I think you may be right..."
"Of course I know what I'm talking ab-" Narray's words froze. She turned her body towards mine and stared at me in shock. "Did you just agree with me?"
My eyes rolled back and I pouted. "Yes, yes, alright... So you were right. Malreus has some feelings for me. Or at least I think he does. He must have..." I muttered and Narray narrowed her eyes.
"What happened in that cave?"
I swallowed. "He kissed me."
Narray's eyes lit up and she squealed. It was uncomfortably weird hearing that noise coming from her mouth, but she sounded more than happy when she said; "Finally! Was it good? Did he get freaky? Give me all the details!"
"What?" I pulled back slight. "No, no! He kissed me and I froze. Like a vestal virgin. I just... I froze up and it got really awkward. We haven't spoken about it since and now things are so weird."
"Why did you do that?" She practically screamed at me.
"I couldn't help it! I just- I don't know! It was so unexpected and he's so- ugh! He's so intimidating, okay? I was caught off-guard."
"You need to fix it."
"Yes, I know that!" I flicked my tongue at her and sighed. "I just haven't had the guts yet."
