His eyes widened at the thought. "M-Me?"

Mr. Sands smirked. "And your sister." His eyebrows furrowed. "But, you have always been our endgame, Darken." His tone was abnormally soft.

This didn't make sense. Why did Dark Core send Everett Marshall to kill him then? His thoughts were blocked by his adrenaline. He couldn't think straight, let alone absorb the information the man was giving him. "I don't.." He turned to look at a bewildered Elizabeth Sunbeam. "I guess.. I don't understand." Darken cleared his throat. "What's so special about me?"

The man gave a menacing smile. "We've never seen power like yours." He informed. "We want you to join us."

Darken gulped, slowly taking a step back. "No." He mumbled.

Mr. Sands raised an eyebrow.

"I can't." He said, aghast. "I refuse." His eyes became glassy, his emotions clouding his mind.

The man slowly straightened his back, taking in a sigh. "You know, Darken.." He studied the boy. "I was afraid you'd say that."

He slowly looked to his right where the frightened Anne Von Blyssen was still tethered to a wooden pole. "Perhaps, you don't have enough motivation."

And in that moment, it was as if the boy could read Mr. Sand's mind. "I swear if you land a finger on her.."

"Oh, I won't be touching her."

Darken's eyes narrowed before Mr. Sands snapped his fingers.

"Jessica. Sabine." He ordered.

Anne's eyes followed the two girls as they came scampering over at his request.

Mr Sands wore a wicked smirk that only made the Druids feel more uncomfortable as the seconds passed.

The two girls looked at each other before bowing their heads. "Yes, sir."

Darken watched nervously as the two girls made their way over to Anne and began to untie her.

"I'm going to get you out of here, Anne." Darken quickly projected.

Anne's arms were roughly being tampered with as the two girls began to untie her. "It's okay, Dark. I trust you." She gave a soft smile before she was forced to stand up, Jessica using a rope to tie her hands behind her back.

After everything had happened, it amazed Darken to see how calm she was. Even if Anne was frightened beyond belief, the girl had no intention of showing it.

She slightly furrowed her eyebrows has Jessica pushed her forward. "Move."

"Hey!" Darken shouted as he tried to run to her aid but Sabine stopped him.

"I'm fine, Darken." Anne assured.

Darken's mouth gaped open as he panted heavily. He was out of breath trying to fight Sabine off. It was simply no use.

His tearful eyes went to Mr. Sands who was standing beside him, watching Jessica take Anne to the edge of the platform. "Please, don't hurt her." He choked out. "Please.."

"That's enough, Jessica."

The brunette suddenly stopped making Anne come to a halt as well. The two of them slowly turned back around so that they were now facing the man in charge.

Mr. Sand's look averted to Darken's tearful blue. "I have no intention of hurting Anne Von Blyssen."

The boy slowly nodded, his gaze then meeting with Anne's.
