The sky was painted with multiple colors of purple and orange. Cotton candy shaped clouds consumed the sky as the sun began to set. Darken looked out his car window at the beautiful sight.

It was amusing to see just how life had worked out for him.

He remembered several months ago when he was looking out a similar foggy window inside a therapist's office. Now, he was on his way to a ball with the rest of his friends to celebrate his hard work on horseback.

It didn't seem possible a boy like him could experience all these things he had gone through with this summer. He didn't know how he deserved to have friends that looked after him, cared for him, worried for him, and loved him.

All of it was nothing he deserved.

He had inflicted so much pain and suffering on the Druids. He couldn't even begin to imagine what made them keep him here. The fact Elizabeth Sunbeam had spent so much time comforting him only made him feel more at home on the island.

It was now time for him to enjoy himself with the last remaining time he had on Jorvik. He knew it would be a miracle if Crest let him return next summer. This gave him all the more reason to savor the moments he had here.

The car ride was coming to a close as it pulled up to the front of Silverglade Village. It was a small town which had very few people. In the center was a large white mansion attached to a clock tower.

As Darken finally stepped out of the car he found himself in complete admiration of the building. It was utterly stunning to say the least.

"Isn't this used for club meetings?" Rowan quizzed curiously as he stepped out of the car.

Justin studied the large building. "I think so, but they cleared everything out. There's only a few tables on the second story in case anybody wants to eat." He answered.

Rowan nodded, redirecting his attention to the beautiful structure.

Darken walked a few more steps toward it. It looked like another car was already parked by the building which meant the girls had already arrived.

He took in a deep breath.

"You good?" Justin snickered at him.

"Yeah,-um-" He gulped. "Yeah, I'm fine.." He edged closer to it, following the other two boys.

Darken suddenly felt a wave of heat rush over him. He was excited, but nervous at the same time. He had never really understood why he felt this way, let alone how to control it. All he knew was that he was about to walk through two large wooden doors that would lead him straight to the dance floor.

He gulped as Rowan put his hand on the handle and opened the wooden door. It made a loud creak sound but was quickly overshadowed by the footsteps of multiple girls that ran over to the entrance.

"It's about time, Moorland.." Alex stood there with her arms crossed.

Darken immediately caught sight of everyone's beautiful dresses. In a way, each of them seemed to reflect the other's personality quite well.

Alex was in a short black dress that had the equivalent sparkle to the stars in the sky.

Linda was in a light grey dress that had multiple embroidered pink flowers. It was short in the front and longer in the back.

Lisa had a burgundy lace dress that had many different flowers embroidered all over it. The red flowers really seemed to bring out the color in her hair.

Kora had a two piece dress that as a top, was pink with different designs on the front, and white skirt that had the same color flowers as the top.
