"They're going to come back, you know."
Anne's pacing suddenly came to a halt. They still had Everett Marshall. What the Druids wanted to do with the boy? Now that was beyond her control.
She was on thin ice with Everett. He had been lying to her for so long and every time they went to interrogate him, all she could do was infer that he was not telling the truth. She furrowed her eyebrows, avoiding his glance. "For you?" She scoffed. "Not a chance."
He frowned, starting to grow impatient with the girl. "How much longer are you going to keep me here, huh?"
She ignored him, starting to walk around the room once again.
"HEY!"
She closed her eyes before taking in a sharp breath and turning to meet him. "As long as it takes."
"As long as it takes for what, exactly?"
She rolled her eyes, continuing to walk around the cell.
He scoffed, studying her movements. "You don't even know why their keeping me here." He mumbled.
She stopped moving, biting her lip. "I don't." She finally admitted. "But, we can't just have a Dark Rider on the loose."
He bit his lip. He found Anne's hope appalling and he could tell she was holding herself together by a single thread. He searched for more reasons to send her over the edge. His lips slowly curved upward as a thought entered his mind. "Does that mean I can't come to the lovely dance?" He mocked.
Anne inhaled sharply at the word "dance." She could tell he was just trying to annoy her but she had forgotten all about it. The night after the competition she was just planning on going to bed. "That makes two of us." She said to herself.
It was just enough for the hostage to hear. He titled his head, his smirk only growing. "Why?"
She scoffed, turning her whole body to face him. "Do you ever shut up?"
He shrugged. "I enjoy hearing my enemies problems." He said casually. "Makes me feel better about myself."
She snorted. "You're absolutely insane if you think I'm going to tell you anything."
He smiled to himself. "Just trying to pass the time."
"Well you know Darken Sands? Dark Core will never get their hands on him. Not if I have something to say about it."
He rolled his eyes, following with a sigh. "Geez, I got it."
"And they're not going to get anywhere near Elise Nihili either."
His eyes grew bigger. "I didn't doubt it."
She took in a deep sigh, closing her eyes. She was losing her head. It was the one thing she didn't want to happen. She came here for answers and all she was doing was letting Everett aware of her weakness.
It was obvious she cared a lot about Darken and his family, but now he knew for sure.
And with that thought in mind, the blonde haired girl walked out of the room wordlessly, Everett's eyes following her all the way out the door.

Elizabeth clasped her hands together. "Now remember, competition is this Friday, students!"
She said as Justin dismounted from his horse, soon followed by Alex and the rest of the teammates.
Linda unbuckled her helmet and adjusted her glasses. "Wait.." She scanned her surroundings for a familiar blonde. "Where's Anne?"
