"hey vic," i say quietly as she opens the door angrily. "he sent you didn't he?" she asks me referring to alex, "he didnt want it to be awkward," i say, not lying but also not telling the truth. she laughs as she mumbles, what sounds like, "of course he didnt," under her breath, handing me a box full of stuff and rolling her eyes, shutting the door in my face. "well, how was it?" ale asks as i open the door, handing him the box. "let's just say, you not going to get the stuff, probably made her more mad," i say before shutting the door and walking over to the drivers seat.

we arrive at the restaurant a short twenty minutes later, somehow still managing to get there before mattia, despite the stop we made. the three of us head inside and alejandro asks for a table for six. "sure, right this way," the waitress says, leading us to a table near some windows. we all sit down and a couple minutes later kairi, roshaun, and mattia walk into the restaurant and we wave them over to our table. "hey rosh, hey mattia" i say to the two, giving roshaun a new nickname. "hey jackie," they say back, as kairi takes a seat next to me.

"hey cutie," i say smiling over at him, "hey babe," he says tiredly, making me chuckle. "hi i'm lauren, i'll be your server, are you guys ready to order?" a girl around our age says walking over to our table. we all order our food and then alejandro explains to the rest of the boys about the him and vic situation. i rest my head on kairi's shoulder, scrolling through my explore page on instagram and i feel kairi place his head on top of mine. "you okay?" i ask him, looking up at him through my eyelashes, "yeah, i'm just tired and my head kinda hurts," he says softly. "aw look how cute," alvaro says showing us a picture he took of the two of us.

"thats cute, send me it," i tell alvaro as the waitress brings us our food. "thanks, lauren," i tell her, making her smile over at me. "no problem, let me know if you guys need anything else okay?" she says with a smile before walking off. we all begin to eat, casually talking about stuff going on in school. "i'm so full," alvaro groans, sitting back in his seat as we all look at his empty plate. "well i'd hope so with how fast you ate all that food," i tell him, chuckling. after we finish eating, we pay for the food and then alvaro, mattia, kairi and roshaun all say they have to go home, so alex asks if i want to come over. "sure, lemme just go say bye to kairi and all them," i say to him, walking away.

"bye guys, see you tomorrow," i tell the boys who are all lined up by mattia's car. "bye shawty," mattia says making me burst out into laughter, "bye fathead," i tell alvaro, "bye dumbass," he says back as him and roshaun get in the car. "bye kai," i say, giving kairi a hug, "bye boo," he says making me laugh. "bye alex! see you later," roshaun and alvaro say from inside the car, "bye! see ya!" he yells back as we walk over to my car. "so are you actually good? you dont gotta act all tough in front of me," i tell ale as we get in the car, pulling out of the parking lot. "yeah i'm good," he says smiling over at me, "i think its good that we ended it," he says softly, leaning back into the seat.

a little bit later, we make it back to ale's house and no one else is home. i sit down on the couch next to alejandro's bed and start playing with his dog. "hey bud" i tell the dog, scratching his back as he lays on my lap. "you wanna watch a movie?" alejandro asks, taking a seat on his bed while scrolling through netflix. "sure," i reply, looking at my phone and replying to a message from my cousin. alex puts on the movie coco, "aw i love this movie!" i say softly. alex chuckles, handing me a blanket, and i lay down on the couch. a little while into the movie, i feel alejandro staring at me with a smile. "alejandro, what are you looking at?" i ask him, laughing as i start to touch my face to see if anything was on it. his cheeks turn red, embarrassed at the fact that i had caught him staring at me.

"fuck," i whisper to myself as jackie looks at me laughing. "nothing, you just look comfy," i say, trying to avoid looking at her again. she laughs before turning her attention back to the movie, making me release a sigh before turning back to the movie as well. after the movie ends, i look over at jackie, and she has the cutest smile on her face while looking down at her phone. 'c'mon ale, just do it,' i tell myself, debating on whether or not i should tell her the truth. i close my eyes, thinking back to the day me and vic broke up at my house.

(flashback !)

"alex, you clearly like her, it's hard not to tell," victoria raises her voice at her boyfriend sitting on his bed. "i dont know if i do! okay vic?" alejandro yells back, confused about his emotions. "stop lying! just admit you do!" vic says, her voice beginning to break. the two sit in silence, not knowing where their relationship stood at this exact moment, but alejandro's next few words would determine that. "vic.... i'm sorry-" alejandro says, feeling bad about what he's going to say.

"just say it," she says softly, wanting him to say it out loud. "yes i like her.... i like jackie," alejandro says, feeling bad about how this whole situation came to be. "you know this means we're done right?" vic says, turning to look at alex. "yeah... vic, listen, i'm sorry, i really didnt think any of thi-" alejandro tried to explain, but vic didnt want to hear it. "it's whatever, bye alejandro... and for the sake of your friendship with kairi and jackie, i hope you sort out your feelings," vic says before walking out of the room, leaving alejandro to be alone with his thoughts.
