"hey babe," i smile at alejandro as i walk inside mattia's house, taking a seat next to him on the couch. he looks over at me, a fake smile toying at his lips, before going and looking back down at his phone. "hey jackie," mattia says, "how'd you get in?" he asks, sitting at his desk.

"me and robert were knocking and gianluca opened the door for us," i say, looking behind me to see robert walking down the stairs. "i see," mattia says as robert walks in, dapping up his friend. "sup robert," alejandro says, standing up and dapping him up, then going to lay down on mattia's bed.

robert looks over at me, with a questioning look on his face, earning a shrug from me as he takes a seat next to me. "are yall fighting or something?" robert whispers to me as mattia and alejandro start playing a game.

"no, at least i dont think so," i say looking at the costa rican who i'd been calling my boyfriend. "we were fine the last time we hung out, which was the day we skipped, and at school we've been fine" i explain, confused by alejandro's sudden distance.

"maybe he just had a bad day, dont sweat it," robert says, rubbing my shoulder reassuringly. "yeah, maybe," i half smile at him as i hear the doorbell ring from upstairs. "i got it," i say, standing up and heading upstairs to the front door.

"hey roshaun, hey alvaro," i say to the two boys, allowing them to come inside. "hey j," alvaro beams, wrapping his arms around me, making me return his gesture. "wassup ugly," roshaun says, giving me a goofy smile and a side hug.

the three of us walk downstairs, and the three boys that were already downstairs were filiming a tiktok, making us laugh at them. "hey goons," mattia says as he notices our presence. "hey dino," alvaro teases the italian boy, all of us laughing.

"can we talk about how we only have like a week left of school though?" robert says, getting all excited. "i'm so ready to be outta there," i say, sitting down on the couch and leaning back into it.

"me too," mattia agrees, getting on his laptop and playing music on spotify. after a couple hours of alejandro not talking to me, and the boys just making tiktoks, i decide to go home. "hey i'm gonna go, i'll see you guys tomorrow," i smile, waving at the group.

"bye jackieeeee," mattia smiles, standing up and giving me a hug. "bye tia," i laugh, hugging him back and gathering my things to leave. "bye guys," i wave, heading up the stairs, and waiting at the top to see if alejandro was gonna come.

"alex, she's leaving, you're not gonna say bye?" i hear robert ask his friend, but i dont hear anything in response. i sigh, texting my mom that i was on my way, and shutting mattia's bedroom door. memories from the last time i was here flooded my mind, making me get even more upset.

after the short drive back to my house, i notice that all the lights are off, and there's an unfamiliar car parked in my driveway, next to my spot. i pull into the driveway, parking my car and debating on whether or not i should go inside.

"fuck it," i mumble to myself, getting out of the car, and heading towards the front door. i unlock it, and trying to be as quiet as i can, i open it and flip the light switch, seeing a big box infront of me. "the fuck..." i whisper, looking to see if there was a label or anything on it, but nothing was there.

suddenly, i feel someone place their hands over my eyes, making me jump and scream. "hey jaquelyn," i hear a soothing, familiar voice say, a smile instantly growing on my face. "NO FUCKING WAY!" i yell, turning around to face my cousin who i hadn't seen in a while, due to him being in the military.

"i missed you so much, oh my god," i say, beginning to cry, the feeling of happiness overwhelming me. "i missed you too, flaca," he says, wrapping his arms around me tightly. "wait," i say looking up at the taller boy, "does that mean julian's here?" i ask him curiously.

"WAIT OH MY GOD," i gasp, realizing what that box was. i turn around, only to be faced with my brother, standing inside the box with a huge smile on his face. "hi hermana," he says, making me practically jump on him.

"julian, oh my god!" i say, this time full on sobbing, pure joy and happiness radiating off of me. "i missed you too," he mumbles softly, as i hear my mom coming downstairs. "aw, i missed it, damn it!" she says, making us laugh.

after i calmed down, we were all in the living room, catching up on what we had missed in eachother's lives. "so ma told us you gotta boyfriend, or two?" my brother says, a playful smile on his face.

"yeah, his name's alejandro," i say, a small smile placing itself on my face at the thought of the boy, despite his actions from earlier. "y el otro?" my cousin says, making my cheeks turn red. "his name was kairi," i say, scratching the back of my neck.

"anyways," i laugh, trying to get the spotlight off of me, "how have you guys been? have you seen your mom yet?" i ask, looking over at my cousin. "no, i'm going tomorrow to see her," he says, making me grow excited for my tia, i know she misses him a lot.
