after a short ride from the school, we arrive at kairi's house and pull into the driveway. "hey jaquelyn," kairi's little sister, maya, says walking out of her room as we walk in through the front door. "my favorite cosentino! hi mamas," i say, wrapping my arms around her and lifting her up. "uh, wow," kairi says looking over at the two of us, making us both giggle.

"dont be such a baby," i tell kairi as i set maya back down. "are you here alone?" kairi asks, looking into the kitchen to see if his mom was in there. "no, mom's upstairs, but we're gonna go to my friends house," maya says sitting down on the couch, turning on the tv. "ooooh, fun," i tell maya, taking a seat next to her. "i like your shirt, its a pretty color," she says, pointing at it. "thanks, maya," i say as kairi goes off to the bathroom.

i hear footsteps coming down the stairs and i stand up to see kairi's mom looking over at us. "hi jackie, how are you?" mrs. cosentino asks me, as i walk over to her. "hi, i'm good, how are you?" i ask back as she gives me a side hug. "i'm good, are you and kairi going to be here?" she asks, walking over into the living room. "yes ma'am, just for a little bit, and then i'm gonna go home," i say, taking a seat next to maya.

"hey mom," kairi says, walking out of the bathroom and kissing his mom's cheek before sitting next to maya and i on the couch. "we'll be back around 8, behave yourselves," kairi's mom tells us as maya says bye and gives me a hug. "yes ma'am, bye guys," kairi and i say as the two walk out of the house through the front door. "come on lets go to my room," kairi says, grabbing my hand and leading me up the stairs.

"im tired, i wanna take a nap," i say, laying down on kairi's bed as he sits on the edge of the bed, turning the tv on. "then we can sleep," kairi says turning to face me, making a small smile form on my face. "i do not deserve you," i say honestly, getting up and plugging my phone on the charger. i walk over to my backpack and pick up kairi's hoodie that i was wearing earlier, and put it on before i lay back down on the bed.

i rest my head on kairi's chest as he scrolls through his phone, drifting off slowly. later on i woke up to the soft sound of snores escaping kairi's mouth and i chuckle lightly at the boy. i reach for the control next to me on the bed, carefully trying not to wake kairi up or move his arm that was rested on my hip. eventually, i grabbed the control and turned on netflix, putting on the karate kid and getting in a comfortable position. halfway into the movie, kairi wakes up but i didnt notice until i felt him staring at me after a while. "oh hey kai," i say smiling up at the boy.

"hey," he says smiling back as i examine his face. i laugh at the way his fluffy hair is all tossed around due to him laying in bed. "what're you watching?" kairi asks me as he gets up and walks into the bathroom, looking at himself in the mirror. "karate kid," i tell him, stretching out my arms and legs now that he was awake. "im hungry, what about you?" he says coming back and sitting next to me on the bed.

"yeah, que quieres?" i ask him as he hands me my phone. "i want chipotle," he says putting his head in my lap. "then lets get chipotle," i tell him running my hand through his hair, smiling down at him. "can we get door dash? i really dont wanna get up anymore," kairi asks me, making me laugh. "sure, if thats what you want," i tell him as i open the door dash app. i place our orders and lay back down, continuing to watch the movie until our food arrives.
