I smiled broadly at Mikasa's tinkling laugh. I watched my best friends with love. It's been so long since I've even had a conversation with them, I thought. Armin chuckled along with my "sister." I couldn't even remember what I said (something about horses or whatever), but I couldn't care less.

        And Mikasa, I thought fondly. I can't remember the last time she smiled. Maybe it's because half her face is always covered. I noticed her toss the red scarf over her shoulder again, covering up her smile. But I knew she was still grinning from the light in her eyes. She hasn't been happy in so long.

        Armin looked at me. He starts, "Eren, I-"

        The door slammed open. It bounced off the doorstep on the wall and craced, threatening to snap right off its hinges. All three of our heads twisted to the doorway. To no one's surprise, there stood Levi, panting slightly, his eyes burning into me wildly. I flushed scarlet and jumped up. I stuttered some apologies as I approached the human bull.        

        "Levi," I hissed. "What are you doing?!"

        "You need to come. Now," he demanded harshly.

        I glanced back at Armin and Mikasa, chatting pleasantly. I turned back to Levi staring at me with intensity.

        "Levi, I- I can't! You know I haven't seen them in forev-"

        "No. Come on." He got a vise-like grip on my wrist and began dragging me to my apartment with fierce strength. I shouted another apology and a goodbye.

     

        ~le magical time skip~

        "You dragged my ass home for...for this?" I gestured wildly at the steaming hot chocolate.

        Levi shrugged, sitting down opposite me. "It was the best batch I've made," was his excuse. I sighed, exasperated, but sipped it anyways.

        My mouth exploded with taste. Of course, I'd always loved hot cocoa but I didn't realize what cinnamon could add to the drink! It was like fireworks! My eyes widened as I gasped.

        "Oh my gosh...What'd you put in this?!" I practically shouted.

        Levi smiled faintly and said, "I knew you'd like it."

        "Like it? I flippen' love this!" I almost inhaled my cup.

        I didn't notice Levi watching me with softness in his eyes, thinking, I love this, too, Eren.

        I love this too much, you shitty brat.
