Day Thirty- I Ship It

(12/6/14)

Five years later

"Oi, brat, what are you doing?" Levi inquired as he sat next to Eren with his scalding tea.

It was pleasantly brisk in London today- even the scarce trees shuddered with the wind. The ice cold temperatures crawled menacingly through the walls, like the hornet's nest they'd dealt with last summer, and crept under the floorboards. It rose goosebumps on the couple's bare arms and legs.

To Eren, this was shocking. It never got much cold in Miami this time of year. But for Levi, this was typical New York weather. He simple shrugged it off, like most things.

"I'm checking this website out," Eren called over his shoulder to the shorty. "Called Wattpad. Apparently, we have more fans than calculated."

Levi leaned in. After Shitty Four-Eyes uploaded the cassette recording- and changed its format- to YouTube, Levi and Eren got intense views and likes. So they'd begun making blogs, with the whole crew.

"Ereri," he murmured distastefully. "Huh."

"Yeah," Eren looked skeptical. "I don't like it much. Blocky."

"Oh, look, there's Riren, too," Levi pointed. "What? They know about Horseface and Freckled Jesus?! How?"

"Twitter. Tumblr. Facebook. I'm telling you," Eren clucked.

"Tch," the raven scowled.

"They've got all of us," Yëager added. "People on Wattpad and other social networks call it 'shipping.'"

"Well, I 'ship' Hanji and Titans, and Sasha and potatoes, and Armin and Captain Eyebrows..." They both laughed. Then it grew silent.

"I miss them," Eren whispered.

"I do, too, Eren," Levi rubbed his shoulders. "But you know we had to accept my job offer, what was it, five years ago."

"Yeah." Eren was quiet for a minute. He fidgeted with the computer mouse.

"Hey, you remember, a long time ago, we'd have staring contests?"

That lifted Eren's spirits. "Yes," he recalled, smiling. "It was my favorite time of the day."

"And the first time we kissed!" They yelled in unison, pointing at each other.

"That time you almost caught your apartment on fire, trying to cook me a good casserole," Levi chuckled.

"And when we went to dinner and met that waiter," Eren laughed.

"M'yes, what was her name? Murtel?"

"Hah! No, Turtle. They have animal nicknames at Colossal Restraunt."

"Remember when I made you wear a kigurumi?" Levi grinned.

"Hmph. Yes. I still have the collar! And that one day back in college, when we passed gushy letters to each other."

"I still have yours," they admitted together sheepishly. Eren smiled and looked down.

"Hmm," he muttered. "Our fans are right to pair us." Eren twisted the ring around his finger.

It was a plain band; before Eren made money off his blogs and Levi had started writing his bestselling series, Shingeki no Kyojin, they hadn't had money for more. Not like either had wanted more; in fact Eren constantly teared up over how perfect Levi's pick was, even after half a decade.

Eren felt like he was going to cry now. Remembering all those happy memories...Missing his two best friends...And how good all their lives ended up luckily being. But, surely, this wasn't the end yet.

Even if you had reached the last page in a book, it wasn't over yet. Nor would it ever be.

After all, the Ackerman's story wasn't over yet, was it?

Levi smiled at Eren, knowing he was thinking in the past again. He stood up and kissed Eren's warm cheek lovingly. "Then I ship it," Levi told his husband as he left the room.
