On the beach under the heavy noon sun Zarah sat with her head in her knees with a mind swarming with worry. Harun sat beside her, he as well filled with an anxiety about your situation, but didn't dare show it externally in fear of making Zarah feel worse.

"Y/N's injuries," Zarah stuttered "do you think they'll heal soon?"

Harun sighed, grasping for the right words in his head to not further upset the poor girl "It's hard to say, but she's a strong lady, so I'm sure she'll be better sooner than we may think".

Harun's words, although with comforting intentions, still felt vauge to Zarah. She continued to feel the knot in her stomach tighten, and the immense pressure of guilt weighed down on her shoulders all the same.

Zarah suddenly caught a glimpse of something odd that was floating along the ocean in her peripherals. Her head jerked upward, and she swiftly shot up on her feet.

"Zarah?" Harun looked at her quizzically "What's up?"

"There's a ship heading this way," Zarah's voice was serious, and she didn't dare take her eyes off of the potential intruders.

"Really?" Harun squinted, putting a flat hand above his gaze to block out the sun "I don't see anything".

"No!" Zarah stomped, growling through gritted teeth "We can't have this now! They need to leave!"

"Zarah, please," Harun pleaded in a gentle tone "You're getting too paranoid about this".

Zarah's body was shaking with rage "What if they hurt Y/N even more? What if they take her away because they recognize her? What if they try to kill her when she's weak?"

"Zarah, those are worst case scenarios— very extreme ones, I might add— it's too early to tell who they are or what their intentions could be."

Zarah kept pacing along the tide, determined to protect all who resided on her island.

"You never know, they could be simple explorers who happen to have medical staff and supplies that could actually help Y/N," Harun pointed out.

Zarah slowly came to a gradual halt and loosened her shoulders "I-I guess...".

"Good," Harun sat straight, relieved to see Zarah relax slightly by his words.

The boat was now significantly closer, having it now in the rage of Harun's vision. Despite the hopeful words Harun relayed, Zarah still couldn't help but feel more on edge again the closer the ship got.

Zarah was standing in the shallow tide, watching the boat intently. She began to shake, for her trauma anxiety began taking over her nerves. She thought about the fire mages and how flustered she became. You were there to help, but not anymore. She relied so much on you, but now it was your turn to rely on her— at least that's how Zarah saw it in that moment.

To be honest, Harun was getting a bit bored. The ship was moving slowly and Zarah was standing perfectly still like a lion watching a defenseless antelope, waiting for the opportunetime to pounce. He eventually yawned and shut his eyes for just a moment. He didn't believe that he drifted off to sleep, but when his eyes opened after it was because he could feel the ground shaking beneath him.

"Earthquake?" he asked himself before looking to Zarah.

He saw her with her arms out stiffly towards the ship. She began screaming with anger as ripples from the shaking ground she was causing surrounded her legs in the water.
