Chapter Thirteen

All her tears has already dried up. She was in deep hurting but she couldn't cry anymore. Maybe her tear ducts couldn't function anymore because of her endless cry.

She can still remember how everything happened so quickly. They didn't had time to comfort each other. They weren't given enough time to say goodbye to the one who raised them inside the facility. The one who truly cares for them, and the one who taught them how to survive.

Jade died trying to protect them. She took all the blame alone and she sacrificed herself for them to live. Like a real mother, she had put them first over her own. And that made all of them feel devastated, knowing that she was killed because of them.

Binago ng pangyayaring iyon ang pananaw niya sa buhay. Ang lahat ng pag-asa at pangarap niya para sa sarili ay parang bulang biglang naglaho. Kahit ang kakaunting kabutihan niya sa puso ay kinain na ng galit.

Wala na siyang nararamdamang takot. Hindi na siya natatakot na maparusahan o mapatay. Wala na siyang pakialam pa para sa sarili. Ang takot niya ay hindi na para sa kanya kundi para sa iba pang mga kasamahan.

Ayaw na niyang mapahamak ang kung sino mang natira sa kanila. Hindi niya kakayanin kung mawawala na naman ang isa sa mga kapatid niya. Baka mabaliw na siya nang tuluyan kapag nangyari iyon.

Iyon ang mga itinatak sa kanilang mga isipan bago sila lumipad papuntang Amerika. Sa isang isang hotel sa New York sila inihatid para makapag-check in ng tig-iisang kwarto roon. Doon nila dadalhin ang mga mapipili nilang lalaki upang mapanood mula sa ikakabit nilang camera ang mga gagawin mamaya. Kailangan kasi na makita mismo ni Madame Pearl ang mga gagawin nila.

Pagkatapos nilang magbihis at magprepara sa kanya-kanyang kwarto ay sabay-sabay na silang nagpunta sa isang sikat na bar malapit roon. Sakto naman na may masquerade bar party na nagaganap roon kung kaya't nabigyan sila ng tig-iisang maskara bago pumasok.
