Saturday. The big day for everyone.
Your mom had left to meet her sister to prepare herself for the wedding, forbidding you to come with her, what means that you were now left alone in a house with Haru, your brother, the twins and - you guessed it - Jungkook.
You hadn't spoken to Jungkook, hadn't even seen him after this incident of him fucking your best friend on the kitchen counter.
You still felt like throwing up whenever you recalled the sight, especially because you felt this one emotion grow in you, which you were never supposed to feel - jealousy.
The thought alone disgusted you and made you feel restless, having you strolling through the house aimlessly, after you were ready to go already.
You wore the dress you had bought with Jungkook - a dark blue one, made out of a soft and light material, with the hem reaching to your knees on the front side and to your calves on the backside, giving the impression of flowing dark water. You really liked how it turned out, together with your simple styled hair; it looked pretty but not too much and you felt comfortable with it, what you learned to be the key to a good look.
As you were walking through the corridor near your mom's and Haru's bedroom you stopped in front of it when you heard Haru's loud voice - angry in what was like the first time ever. You didn't really mean to eavesdrop, but curiosity killed the cat, right?
"I'm not letting you destroy my wedding by one of your escapades!" Haru snarled, "This is a special day for us, get ahold of yourself-"
You didn't hear the last word but were pretty sure it was a way to describe a female dog, so maybe it was a good thing you didn't.
You jumped startled when Haru came out of the room, catching a glimpse of Jungkook facing the other side of the room. You met eyes with Haru, embarrassed abut being caught eavesdropping, but he just smiled one of his super friendly crescent-smiles and walked past you.
The door closed behind him, blocking the sight of your step-brother and you chewed on your lower lip. So, Haru knew of... what his son was doing. He didn't approve it, but neither did he do anything against it. You frowned. What was their relationship like? You used to think that they were on really good terms, but obviously this wasn't the case.
'One of your escapades'
Interesting way to call it. As if it was a faux pas of Jungkook, happening regularly.
You scoffed and cursed the older boy for causing you a headache on your mother's wedding day.
___
Although she would totally deny it, your mom wasn't the youngest anymore.
But today, she looked like a young girl, smiling and eyes sparkling with pure happiness as she walked up the altar. Haru as well looked like the happiest man on earth, not a single ounce of the angry man from earlier left in him. I mean, he was Jungkook's dad after all.
You of course were happy as well, because your mom was. And probably because of the three children spreading cherry blossom petals behind the bride, the sight alone melting your heart, Jee seeming to get along with his cousins for once.
You talked with a lot of people after the ceremony, when you headed to the restaurant you would be celebrating in for the rest of the evening, mostly with people you didn't even know but acted as if you did - because apparently they were family.
A lot of polite smiling and awkward conversations later, you found yourself at the buffet, where you had to face the person you had been successfully avoiding for the whole day - till now.
He wore a suit in all black, with small silver details, which was hugging his figure perfectly and his fingers and ears were adorned with several silver jewelry.
-
You stared at him for a moment, involuntarily and came to the conclusion that god was an unfair bitch, just to catch yourself quickly and trying to avoid looking at him at all."I was wrong." Jungkook stated, his voice having adapted this typical polite tone, "This dress does fit you. You look good."
Stop complimenting me fucktard
You smiled, equally polite and distanced, "You do too. Black fits you."
He made a step forward, now towering over you, making you feel so god damn tiny and fragile in front of him. You felt him coming too close to your liking, close enough to make his smell hit your nose, and your heart race, until he cleared his throat, making you realize that he simply had been trying to reach the bowl behind you, also remembering you that you currently were on your mom's and his dad's wedding.
"Oh, uhm... sorry." You said embarrassed, no, ashamed and he gave you a sheepish smile.
"It's okay." He retorted and you quickly turned around to get away from your new step-brother. You felt his eyes bore into your back and turned around to see him eyeing you with those big doe eyes, that didn't seem to fit to the rest of his mature body.
"Are you alright baby?" Your mom startled you out of your thoughts and you needed a moment to realize what she meant by that; your face was practically burning up and you felt a blush all over your face a neck, down to your chest.
"uh- yes I guess." You answered confused.
Your mother smiled understandingly, "I know all these people can be a lot all at once, what if you go out for a moment?"
You nodded thankfully and left the room, crowded with strangers, just to be hit with a wave of cool air. You felt goosebumps forming on your arms, due to the thin dress, but really you enjoyed staying like this.
This way you could calm down and forget about this awkward-as-hell encounter you just had.
You had imagined living with the Jeons would be cool. But now that you knew a bit more about them you realized how this had been a naive thought.
