I couldn't help but walk the entire way to Emily's room with a big grin on my face. We all sat on Emily's bed in our pjs and talked til midnight. "So, Kenz? Anything going on between you and Johnny." Annie said with a mischievous smirk on her face. "I don't know what you're talking about, we're just friends." I shrugged, I guess we were getting closer but it's not like anything was going on. "Oh please, it's obvious you're interested and it's even more obvious he has at least some interest in you." Emily said playfully throwing a pillow at me. "Emily's right, Kenz, there's obviously something there i've never seen him so interested in someone, and not just as a friend." Mais may have been right, she knew him longer and better than i do. "I don't know guys, I don't think he's interested, I think we're just friends."
"Whatever you say, but you know we're right." Emily said as though she was giving up but she didn't want to.

The rest of that night we stayed up super late, drinking and eating pizza. I finally got to enjoy one night relaxing, not worrying about anything or doing anything I shouldn't be. I didn't have to be home with... with him. Instead I was here with people who weren't going to hurt me, but people who actually cared about me. But obviously it didn't last long. I got a call at about 3 am. Jase wanted me home, he said there were people who were requesting my presence. I left a note by the nightstand saying I left and I'll see them all on Monday.
I made my way home and arrived at about 4am. He was waiting on the couch for me.
"They're in my office, I left your clothes on your bed, hurry up." He had no expression in his voice, no movement in his body, and no facial changes. I ran upstairs as fast as I could, the dress was laid down on my bed. I couldn't help but stand and stare. I went into my closet and grabbed the box sitting on my floor, filled with photos, letters, assignments, postcared, ID's, special gifts or belongings all from my past alias'. I always imagine my life if I never had to go through that. If my dad was still here, my mom was still alive, and I was still dating- Ryan...
I was in a daze for what could have been 3 minutes. But it was 15.
Jase came in slamming the doors, He was mad, I shoved the box away and came out.
"Why the hell aren't you ready yet?!" He says ripping the pictures off my walls and throwing them, the glass bursts everywhere in my room. "Go downstairs right now!" I head towards the stairs and i feel a heavy thrust on my back. My body flies down the staircase as i tumble over on the ground. I can hardly move. 25 steps of hardwood stairs. This feeling is familiar, sprained ankle, bruises everywhere, cut on my forehead and a broken rib. I have to say it's one of the worst feelings ever. He tossed my dress down at me, and I changes as fast as I could and went into his office. Another day, another meaningless night with a person I don't know.
Monday morning rolled along and I looked like absolute shit. Got out of bed, even though I never actually went to sleep, It was difficult. Maybe it was my ribcage. I woke up early and wrapped my stomach in plastic wrap and bandages. Luckily nothing was too obvious.

I was a bit early to school and headed straight to my locker. I was bombarded by the girls who kept asking why I left in the middle of the night. Followed by Johnny, Chase, Isaak, Asher, and Lucas. Annie ran up to Asher and gave him a hug while he kissed her forehead. Chase and Emily were talking and Johnny leaned up against my locker right next to me. I noticed Johnny checking out the cut on my forehead and the light bruises through my tights, he pretended like I didn't notice him and just smiled at everyone.
"Kenz, why did you up and leave in the middle of the night?" Emily asked my slightly concerned but giggle because Chase was messing around with her. "What?" Johnny asked in a more serious tone and leaned off my locker. "It's nothing there was just a family emergency my Step-dad needed my help with." I closed my locker and we all stood in a circle talking til class started. We made some jokes and laughed too much when Isaak elbowed me after Mais made a dumb remark. It was so gentle but It hurt like a bitch. My face squinted and I could feel my mouth filling with blood. I pushed through the crowds and bolted straight towards the bathroom.
"Is she okay?" Johnny asked following slowly behind me. "I Don't know, maybe she's got cramps." Annie said and walked with Asher to class. I spit out a pool of blood into the sink and wiped my mouth off with a paper towel. I came out of the bathroom and the entire halls were empty. But Johnny was standing right there waiting for me to come out.
"What happened? Are you okay?"
"I'm fine, Johnny, just cramps." I know he didn't believe me, but he also chose not to push it with too many questions, and i'm glad he did. He walked me to my class and dropped me off.
Classes were long, and boring but I managed to make my way through them til lunch.
"Did you guys hear the FIFA soccer game is this Friday!?" I shouted at them just finding out in my Physics class instead of doing work. "No way I'm so down!" Isaak jumped up and threw a fist bump at me. "Who you rooting for?" Asher asked. "England." I said "My money's on Sweden." Annie replied. "Y'all wanna come to my place after school on Friday, watch the game, order pizza and spend the night?" Emily offered. "Your parents are chill with that?" Isaak asked. "They couldn't give one shit." The girls and I shrugged and said yeah. "We'll be there a little later we all have football practice on Friday." Chase replied.
"You guys are on the football team?" I asked "Yep." Johnny replied winking at me and I rolled my eyes at him. How Cliche.
"See you guys later." Asher said just as the bell rang.
