"You ruined EVERYTHING!" Yelled Lhin. "Nothing's gonna be the same because of you," growled Biana. "I thought we were meant to be. Obviously not, after the way you ditched me for Dex" Fitz melancholically whined. "You could've had me, Foster. Instead, you now have no one." Keefe shouted. "Get over yourself, Sophie!" Tam exclaimed. They all started yelling and Sophie curled into a ball. "SOPHIE! SOPHIE!"
"Sophie! Wake up, it's just a dream! It's just a dream." Edaline rubbed her back until Sophie's halting breaths calmed. "I've ruined everything" she whined. "No you didn't, Baby. You're friendships are just precarious, but it'll get better. You'll push through this." Sophie just sighed and Edaline took that as a sign to leave. "Sophie... You may want to talk to them. It would only help" she suggested. Sophie laughed bitterly. "Haha. Very funny." She got out of bed and went to the bathroom.
Her hair was a mess and the bags under her eyes had reapeared. A bit of drool had pooled on the side of her mouth and zits had appeared here and there. Sophie was yet again a mess. She only knew one person who could help, but they weren't really on the best of terms... Screw it, she thought. She took a washcloth and wiped her face off, quickly brushed her hair and put it into a bun at the nape of her neck. Grabbing her imparter, she pressed the FaceTime function and dialed call.
"Sophie! Ohmygoshihavesomuchtotellyou ugggghhhhhhhh!" In that moment, Sophie wanted to cry with joy. Her best friend was still here. "I'm so, so sorry. I probably messed everything up..." Biana laughed. "Girl, you didn't ruin everything. It's just those assholes who ruined it all. I mean come on, did they have to overreact that much? I mean they should get over themselves. Now, you look like a mess. We need a self care day. I'm coming your way and then we can go to Atlantis for some spaaaaa tiiiiiime!"
Sophie laughed slightly and hung up to get ready. She then went through her closet to find something at least presentable to wear. She pulled on a light blue button down dress and slid on some sandals. Her cognate rings stayed behind. She grabbed a little purse and scampered out. "I'm going to Biana's!" She declared. "Ok, but..." Edaline tried to ask something but Sophie had already left.
She arrived at Atlantis without Biana and blended into the crowds. She walked to the Atlantic Spa, a huge spa complex reknown for it's private rooms and seaweed massages. She was led down the corridors to a luxurious door, with the carved names Biana and Sophie on the gold plaque. The attendant knocked and the door was abruptly pulled open.
"SOPHIE SOPHIE SOPHIE! Come in, come in!" Biana pulled her inside and handed her a silk bathrobe and soft slippers. "So we'll have a massage and then this thermal bath and then a facial and then mani pedis and a bunch of other things. And we'll chit chat about my ass of a brother and everything else. Goodness we have GOT to catch up."
And so began the relaxing day. They enjoyed baths, manicures, and herbal tea. A high tea style luncheon was served and they talked and talked and talked. Eventually, Sophie knew that Biana would bring up the others but she hoped to avoid that for now.
" So when you left , Fitz freaked and Keefe as well. They were acting like buffoons until I yelled at them and said you had probably just left 'cause you were upset but we all just sorta disbanded and left. Fitz has been in his room since or out by the lake all day. He's been quiet for a while and it's weird but like he screwed up! It's so strange." Sophie nodded and sighed. "It's all my fault. Why did I request a scroll? Being a councillor is so much less dramatic."
Biana rolled her eyes. "Your just so smitten with Fitz that you had to see. We all called it. Even Lihn who's had a desperate crush on Fitz."
Biana blushed red and muttered some incomprehensible words. So that's why Lihn always seemed so upset when Fitz and Sophie had moments together. She suddenly felt bad for her friend, who had to live with her crush being so close to her best friend. Sophie's heart suddenly ached for Lihn. "Oh." She said. "I didn't know..." Biana sighed.
"Well that's just awkward now." Said Biana, avoiding Sophie's gaze. They dumbly stared off into space until Biana broke the silence. "Look, you're gonna hafta talk to them. I know we're going into our last year of the Elite levels but try to build up the courage to talk to him by Winter Solstice break. You'll have 3 months..." She said.
Sophie sighed but had to agree. "Yeah... Hopefully the tension will have thinned until then." "It better!" Biana scoffed. "Now, let's stop this chit chat about boys. Have you strolled through your scroll?" Biana smirked. Sophie gave her a look and they both burst into cackles. It was great to be with Biana again.
