Previously:

"What are you going to do, (Y/N)? Fight me? The pain was getting worse and worse, but my feet kept getting farther and farther away from the floor. Then everything turned a shade of grey.

Jack called my name, but I kept my eyes trained on Pitch.

Now...

Jack's pov.

"(Y/N)!" I yelled as her feet left the floor. Her hair was floating around her head, and when she looked at me, her eyes turned Aqua Blue, like mine. I could tell the lights had gone out, but it seemed like me and (Y/N) were the only ones who could see.

As I stared at both Pitch and (Y/N), I realized that everything surrounding (Y/N) started floating in the air around her. The workshop started to shake, and the lights turned back on. Even though I kept my eyes trained on them, I knew the Gaurdians had a surprised look on their faces when Tooth gasped.

"What's happening?" asked Bunny, who was wondering the same thing as me. My feet left the floor as flew over to (Y/N). With a better look, I realized a few thing changed. Her eye colour changed, and so did her pupils. The looked like gears. Her hair changed from (H/C) to full black with a single silver streak. As I flew directly infront of her, tear were falling down her face.

Her body started radiating a silver glow, and she opened her mouth as if she was trying to hold back a scream. "Get out of my head!" she said as she held her head. Pitch was now cowering behind some boxes, and the Gaurdians took cover. I stayed by her side as she kept her eyes trained on Pitch.

She let's out a gasp as a wave of black and silver mist shoots through the room. Im trown to the other side of the room and hit the wall, causing my vision to go black.

When my vision clears, Pitch is gone, and (Y/N)'s body is going back to normal. She falls to the floor with a loud thud. I call out her name, but she doesn't answer. I rush to her side, and realize that she's barely breathing.

Bunny and Tooth are the first to rush over, and when North realized what happened, he started speaking to a Yeti before coming over.

"Bring her here," he said, gesturing to the Yeti. I picked her up, careful of her injures she still had. Her body was cold, which I guessed was a bad thing. The Yeti brought us to a room with one bed, a bookshelf, window seat, and other things that were in rooms. I laid her down on the bed and pulled the covers over her. The others left the room, as I stayed by her side.

I placed my hands on the blanket, and frost spread over part of the blanket. I immediately took off my hands, and placed them in my pockets. As I stared at her, I remembered our first conversation when In the hospital after she got pulled out of the lake.

-----Flash Back...-----

"What do you mean you'll never forget me? I just met you. I don't even know your name. And second, who are you, and again, why can you see me?"

She looked at me with confusion in her eyes. She doesn't say anything for awhile, then speaks.

"Jack, you were my best friend since 3rd grade. I couldn't forget that I made you up just so I could be happy," she said as she looked down at her hands. My guess was that she was thinking over alot. She seemed confused and speechless. None of us talked for awile, until I got uncomfortable from seeing her like this.

I walk to her side, and grab her hand. It startles us both, that I don't go through her. After even just knowing that she can see me, it still counted As a surprise. As soon as I get out of my teance, I hold her hand up to my heart, letting her feel my heartbeat, making her know I'm alive.

The warmth from her hand in mine shocks me, but I give in. I placed my other hand on the bed, spreading frost over the railing. I smile, trying not to show too much pity for her. But give in and show the concern I feel.

"First off, I'm not a figment of your imagination," I said, trying to comfort her. "Second, i'm sorry you had only your imagination as a friend. And Third, I'll be your new, living friend."

-----Flash Forward, Present Time...-----

The coldness from her body leaves me with shock and heart break. I've already thought I lost her once, and I don't need it to happen again.

The last time I felt like this, was when she starved herself. She spent a whole week in her room, isolated from the world. She still never fully recovered from that either. She was still so frail, and her skin was pale. She didn't eat much anymore, and I felt like it was all my fault.

"Pitch was right. I make a mess wherever I go."

I look down at (Y/N), her skin covered in bruises, cuts and scars. It brought me back to when I noticed the cuts on her arms. She must've thought I was being harsh. I was just concerned for her health, I didn't realize how traumatized she was throughout her childhood.

I was concerned for her, and I realized that she had a horrible life. Her sister was almost never there, and she told me her parents were dead. She had no other family but Gabby, who was gone most of the time working, and barely ever came home.

-----Flash Back, Again...-----

The first time I went over, it was a day after I left her at her house. I knocked on the door, but there was no answer. Her sister wasn't home, so I flew up to (Y/N)'s window. I realized something was off when the curtains covered the window. I had knocked on the door, but there was no answer. I did this for a few days, sometimes a few times in a day. Until the kids who chased her onto the lake walked by her house one day.

"I heard she's starving herself in her room!" one kid said. I stared at them, wanting to believe that it wasn't true. Until the full week had passed.

I had knocked on the door again, resting my forehead against it. I turned the knob, not thinking that it was unlocked. But once I got inside, I immediately went to her bedroom, and knocked on the door.

"Hey, (Y/N). I haven't seen you in a few days. I wanted to know if you were alright." My voice cracked, and I was filled with concern. I was responded to with nothing but silence, and fearing that she did something to herself, I walked back out of the house, and flew up to her window.

I saw that her window was open, so I knocked quietly at first. When I heard no answer, I stepped into the room. As my eyes adjusted to the darkness, I saw her sitting in the corner of her room staring at me. When she realized that I was looking at her, she gently laid her head back on her knees.

I set my staff down on the wall, and walked over to her, hands in my pockets. I stared at her for a while as she silently cried, the tears falling down her face.

I tried to not make a sound as I sat down next to her and put my arm over her shoulder. She shivered, and my arm left her body for a minute before hugging her again. I looked at her silently as she placed her head on my shoulders. And that was when I could feel all her pain and sorrow and loneliness. She kept shivering, but I couldn't tell if it was from her crying, or the cold I brought into the room.

After awhile, I started humming a song. I felt her shift in my arms. Tears were falling down my face as well, because it hurt for me to see her like this. Even if we didn't know alot about eachother.

I started singing the tune, my voice cracking. I was sure that she could tell that I was crying as well, because my voice hitched and my breath was sharp.

I positioned my self to where I was now infront of her, and placed my hands on her shoulders as she still looked down.

She lifted her head slightly before placing it back on her knees. I pulled her close as we sat like that for a long time before I lifted her head up to face me.

"Hey. Why are you hiding?" I asked, sorrow in my voice. I looked her dead in the eyes as I wiped away her tears with my thumb.

"Please tell me what's wrong," I said, pulling her close again. She stayed like that for a little while before speaking. Her voice was cracked and damaged, but I didn't say anything, or make fun of her as I sat there and listened to what she had to say.
