Final Chapter: "Love isn't a feeling. It's a commitment to love every day, physically and emotionally. People tend to quit when it stops being fun. That's not how it works. You want somebody to never give up on you, and love you unconditionally and do the same."
"Ate, why do you love kuya Vince?"
The question caught me off guard. Why do I love Vince? Bakit nga ba? His face is the kind that you would just love to stare at the whole day, the kind that could make other guys near him feel insecure. Albeit, his appearance was never the reason why I fell for him.
His money? Generosity? He always gives me expensive gifts even if there's no occasion. But no, that's not it.
It was his humbleness. He's one of the youngest billionaires, but he was never one to show off. He respects and treats everyone, including his employees, as his equal.
His brain and humor. We could talk about anything from intelligent kind of topics to nonsense stuff, and he still could make it interesting.
His sweetness, thoughtfulness, and the way he shows his love for me. Every morning, he always makes it a point to wait for me to wake up before he leaves the bed or home. I appreciate the random letters he gives me. Add to that, his overprotectiveness even if sometimes it frustrates me as well.
His clinginess. I love that he couldn't sleep without me by his side. He's never shy to show his affection to me even if there are other people.
I love the way he hugs, kisses, and says 'I love you' every time. And most importantly, I love how he makes me feel loved and valued.
I could still remember when we were going through dark times as we had lost our little angel even before we got the chance to see her, he sent me to the Hacienda and I thought it was because he was blaming me for what had happened. Little did I know, he only did that because it was suggested by my doctor. And while I was there feeling miserable because of my misconception, he was busy looking for the best cardiologist.
He found Dr. Carlson Davis, a renowned cardiologist, and didn't think twice of leaving the Philippines with me. Setting an appointment with the well-known Doctor was hard, but being Vincent Anderson, made it quite easy for him.
It's just those little things..
My eyes darted in the pool area. He was talking to his father, and I could pretty much guess it was about business. He suddenly turned to my direction. His eyes lit up, and the corner of his mouth curved up.
I smiled. "Vince is God's gift to me."
Missy's face crumpled. "Kuya Vince? God's gift to you? Seriously, ate? He's too strict and mapang-asar sometimes!"
"He loved me even when he thought the worst of me." Her brows knitted. "When I was in my darkest moment, he was my light of hope. He made me fight death."
I chuckled softly as she became more confused. I patted her head affectionately and said, "When the time comes, you'll understand, Missy."
"What are you two so serious about?"
Hindi ko namalayan ang paglapit niya sa amin. "We're talking about Korean actors," I said teasingly because I knew he would be pissed. He gets jealous every time I get kilig over Korean actors.
His forehead creased. "Really now, Chela? You already have me," he said seriously as he sat beside me. Then his eyes darted at Missy. "And you, young lady, are not allowed to date until you graduate."
She gasped. "Are you serious!"
"No. Actually, until you become mature. So that means, you need to wait for a couple more decades, kiddo!"
