Lyres

"If you want them pancakes you better get up" mama pulled my legs dragging me halfway off the bed

"Lyres it's just two hours" she laughed kissing the side of my face

'twas the day before my birthday and I did not want to be in school and I would have stayed home if it wasn't for my teacher calling saying we had mid-year assessment.

"I should be staying here to make sure you're alright" I sat up feeling her forehead

"Your pretty warm you should get checked out" I made a concerned face

"You're going to school Lyres" She smacked my hand away from her forehead

"And I'm going to the doctor anyway" She shrugged

"Fine, but come get me after my test" I snatched the covers off getting out of bed.

"Yes father" she shook her head leaving

Due to me leaving early and having to test they couldn't send me home for not being in uniform so I decided on my Ralph Lauren jeans and my polo shirt with my polo slides and socks.

"Ready!" I yelled out grabbing my ID and phone

"Really Ly." Mama frowned seeing what I was wearing

"What I wanna be comfortable" I shrugged pulling out a seat to a table

"You're not eating?" I took a seat only seeing two plates

"No they may have to take blood" she handed me a cup of juice

"Anna Mae wants to treat you for your birthday, I told her last night you'll be 12 Saturday so she wants to take us out" she told me leaning  against the island waiting for my response

"I don't mind, can Marley and grandma come too we haven't seen them in a week?" I asked

"Sure it's You're day, so after my appointment I'll come grab you and we'll come and get dressed then meet them" she ran over the plan

"Sounds good to me" I shrugged finishing up my breakfast

Within and hour Mama was dropping us off and pulling out

Harlow

"I have and appointment for 9:15" I told the nurse at the desk handing her my card

"Okay, sign here and here then you can have a seat" she handed me a clip board and and patient conformation papers

After signing I looked around for a seat.

"Excuse me" I looked down at the lady's scroller that was blocking two seats

"Oh I'm sorry" she quickly unlocked the wheels moving it over

"It's fine" I gave her a smile taking a seat in the corner

It was only 8:30 so I expected to be waiting a good 20 minutes before they called me and that was fine because the doctors office was peaceful and cold just the way I liked.

I was use to coming to this doctor so I always bought two sweaters one small one and one thick one which I balled up to lay against the wall as a head rest.

Getting comfortable in my seat I pushed my shades up off my nose before closing my eyes falling into sleep.

"Ma'am, excuse me ma'am" I felt someone touching my shoulder

"Hmm" I stretched removing my shades

"Harlow?" She looked down at the board in her hand
