Sexy Concepts in Korea

One thing I love in Korea are the sexy concepts. They usually don't go overboard, like America does 24/7, and also I like how they do sexualize men more, it's not just women. I honestly think it's pretty equal on sexualization. So yeah, good job Korea.

And then there are those concepts that just are meant to be sexy....but then laugh at how dramatic it is. I can name a few. Let's go down the long list of what Korea finds sexy but what we find laughable.

1. Lip Rubbing
I don't know who started this trend, but it needs to stop. I don't get how rubbing your hand across your mouth is "hot". Are you trying to bring attention to your lips? Do you love your lips? Are your lips dry?! Bro you can just get some Chapstick from the drug store around the block, we don't need this on camera.

2. The Stare
This is best represented in the m/v of Shinee's Lucifer. I'm sorry, but dramatically staring in the camera isn't really...um....effective. Especially when you aren'tsinging to the song, just imagine how awkward that would be.
" Ok, Jonghyun, today, we are going to have you stare dramatically at the camera while feeling invisible sparkling magic dust."
" What? Um ok, what part of the song an I lip syncing to?"
" Nope we don't want you lip syncing here, just keep your mouth shut, and be mystified by the invisible magic dust."
" Um, ok?"
" Ok Jonghyun, stand here, aaaaaannnnndddddd action!"

( awkward silence while Jonghyun moves his hand in the air looking like he's interested in the invisible magic dust)
" Aaaaannnnddddd Cut! Great job Jonghyun! Now can you go get Taemin? We need to put him in front of a fan and have invisible magic dust blow around his long hair."
This is why I am not a K-Pop idol, I'm not patient enough to just dramatically stare at a camera. I fail at that skill.

3. Winking
I don't get it, why is closing one eyelid at a time attractive? You honestly just look like you have an eye spasm going on, and if you do, go see a doctor. Smiling at the camera and blinking with only one eyelid isn't very sexy. And they always try to make it as slow as possible, and emphasize it. Yes, we see you winking, can you please finish now.

4. Wall Pounding

Wall pounding is when a boy group ( never seen it with girl groups) is pretty much trying to get through a stone wall while acting desperate and lost and dramatic. They kind of just look stupid though. The best example is in Exo's Overdose M/V when they are turning into dead ends and invisible walls and they look all confused. THERE IS A WALL THERE, AND IT IS SOLID. YOU WEAKLY POUNDING YOUR HANDS ON CONCRETE IS NOT GOING TO DO ANYTHING, YOUR JUST GOING TO BREAK YOUR HANDS. And also why can't Kai just transport out? His power is transportation, use it. Kyungsoo probably could've gotten out also his power is earth/power. And whenever there was a dead end in the maze they were looking all confused why there was a dead end. ITS A MAZE! WHAT WERE YOU EXPECTING, A STRAIGHT LINE TO THE EXIT?! GOOD LORD.

5. Misused Furniture

I guess one power you do not possess as a K-Pop idol is sitting on furniture correctly. The best example is Winners M/v Empty, where they are sitting on the floor, the armrests, the stairs, leaning against the side of a bed, etc, but not actually sitting properly on any of the furniture. And they were all giving these solemn looks. Are you sad that you can't sit on furniture correctly? It's ok, we can help you move past this phase in your life. We help furnituredly challenged. There's a cure.

6. So Much Leg

I've been unfair to boy groups, because girl groups also have many problems. You see, K-Pop girl groups really like showing off their legs...that's it. Why? Why that particular body part all the time and almost nothing else? I mean, you have nice legs, but your always showing them off their kind of getting old.
