MAMA 2014 Review Part 1: Live Performances

So the Mnet Asia Music Awards were last night, and I watched it, and all around good. So I'm going to review the live performances now and then I'll go onto some other topics later.

Let's start with the best performances. Ailee, Infinite, and BTS were the best personally for me. Like holy cow, can we just talk about Ailee for a second? How can one have that good of a voice?! And still dance?! She is ready for a debut in America, and she better make it here or I'll cry. The next one is Infinite, who I am starting to like more and more. Their live performances are some of the best, and they still had great vocals even though they were doing some great choreography. I may become Inspirit. Last is BTS who just rocked it, The collab with Block B was great, the dancing was great, Jimin shirtless was great....

AND OMG CHEN AND JOHN LEGEND WERE ONE THE SAME STAGE PLUS TIFFANY SOMEONE CATCH ME.(collapses)

Also I want to talk about the worst ones of the night which kind of disappointed me. And that would be Girls Day and Exo. I want to talk about Exo first.

Ok, I liked Black Pearl and What Is Love, those were good. But then I got really irritated when they gave Kai a solo. I do like Kai, he's in my top 5 for Exo, but SM promotes him way to much. He's not the only member in Exo, he's not even the most popular in Korea or China. But you keep shoving Kai in our face like, " Ooh, we know you love Kai, ooh so sexaay watch him DANCE!" I mean the dance was good but stop shoving Kai in our face, give the other members a chance.

Second of all, I didn't like how D.O covered Lu Hans part in Overdose. I was hoping Xiumin or Tao or Lay would do it, you know, someone in Exo M. And D.O already has a lot of parts in the song already. I was especially hoping for Xiumin to do it, since he has no parts in the Exo-K version of the song and 2 lines in the Exo-M version. Shouldn't SM be giving more parts to a Exo-M, or at least Tao and Lay, since they've been recently accused of treating the Exo-K members better. SM is just giving the court evidence to be used against them.

And the one that annoys me the most, the lip syncing. SM, really? They've been here for almost 3 years and they are still lip syncing? SuJu, SHINee, TVXQ didn't lip sync after like a year or two. I know they can sing live. I just got disappointed with this after watching Infinite because they were singing live and still killing it while doing harder choreography. Exo may be my favorite group, But there's no excuse anymore. They should not be lip syncing to anything anymore.

And now let's go to Girls Day...yay....

Awful. Absolutely awful, no excuse. The only good one was Minah. First of all when they were doing their song themselves, I was completely bored out of my mind. The song was dull, vocals a catastrophe, and they tried way to hard to be sexy in their dance. I'm sorry but that's not a sexy look that's a constipated look. I was just waiting for Ailee to do her song.

Also let's talk about Problem. Ailee and Minah saved that performance. If they weren't there it would of been a train wreck. My biggest problem was the rap. Hyeori did absolutely awful, couldn't keep up with the lip sync, and it was bad. I usually have compassion for when people cover English songs, but if you don't know it at all, don't sing it at an award show where millions are watching you.

The rest of the artists were pretty good, Block B and IU and all them. I was only disappointed with Exo and Girls a Day, everyone else was good. And that's my review of the Live performances. Comment what you thought of the live performances of the night and if you agree or not. Bye.
