Why do I have to make another one of these rants against a company in South Korea? Are entertainment companies always this badly run? Korean entertainment is getting way out of hand.
So if you did not know all of B.A.P, Youngguk, Jongup, Himchan, Daehyun, Youngjae, and Zelo, have all filed a lawsuit to TS Emtertainment for termination of their contract. Calling it a " slave contract". Sound familiar to any other company in Korea?
First of all, their contract is ridiculously long. 7 years. So since they signed onto to TX in 2011, they have to be in TS until 2018. Oh wait, 2019, since their contract doesn't really start until their debut. That's bullshit.
The rest is like other lawsuits. Violate privacy and civil rights, etc.
Here's what I don't get though.
The news report says The Trade Commission might see this contract as unfair.
THEN WHY ISNT THE TRADE COMMISSION DOING ANYTHING ABOUT TS OR SM's CONTRACTS IF THEY ARE CONSIDERED UNFAIR?! YOUR SAYING ALL THIS TIME THESE CONTRACTS COULDVE BEEN MADE BETTER?!
Ok, I need to calm down.
Anyways, I am getting pissed off with South Koreas entertainment system. Is this some kind of joke? They can't protect their artists, give them privacy, give basic civil rights, a decent contract, health, or breaks away from work. These are all basic things an entertainment company does for their artists! YG, JYP, Jellyfish, Big Hit, Cube, they don't have any problems with their artists. I don't get why it's so hard to be a good company to their artists. America doesn't have problems with this. China doesn't have problems with this. Britain doesn't have problems with this. I don't get what's so hard!
You don't have to treat your artists like shit to get money. You don't have to overwork them, it's ok to give them a break. They don't need to work 24/7 like this! Slave contracts are not necessary, but SM and TS just seem to like these so much!
Something is happening though. Some of these artists are starting to stand up to this bullshit. B.A.P, Kris, Lu Han, JYJ, Han Geng, ZE:A. They have all stood up to this and called it out. Their personal lives aren't some Korean Drama for other people to watch and to be entertained. They shouldn't feel threatened by fans and have lack of privacy.
Each member of B.A.P has only made $16000 ( USD) in the span of 3 years, even though they have released 11 albums. I can see why they are standing up to this bullshit. Comment what you think will happen to K-Pop, if you agree or disagree, and if you think entertainment companies might learn from the mistakes of SM and TS.
