if you really knew me: a slam poem

If you really knew me, you would know I'm a very anxious person.
If you really knew me, you would know that I've been through a lot.
If you really knew me, you would know that I have trust and abandonment issues.
If you really knew me, you would know I don't lie and that I'm the realist/bluntest person you'll probably ever meet.
If you really knew me, you would know how kind I am.
If you really knew me, you would know I care a lot about many things and people.
If you really knew me, you would know that I'm a fucking loyal person: friendship and relationship-wise.
If you really knew me, you wouldn't let negative opinions and lies from others affect a possible friendship between us.
But
You probably don't know any of that though.
You probably let the negative opinions and lies of others affect a possible friendship between us.
That is okay too.
It is okay if people try to spread rumors and lies about me.
It is okay if people make up stories and twist situations to make them look like the better person.
At the end of the day,
What matters most, is that the people who really know me,
Know the truth.
