a friend; a resident
A resident at the nursing home I work at once told me:
You hide behind your laughter and sarcasm,
Even when you're upset.
You know how to crack a joke too.
You and I are the same.
I can tell you've been through so much,
You're way mature for your age.
You always brighten my day when you walk into my room with that bubbly attitude.
But I also know when you're stressed and upset,
Because you don't talk much.
It is okay though,
Because I love you to death,
I knew I would when I first laid my eyes on you.My response:
Thank you for opening up to me,
What you've been through in the past,
You lived a life for sure,
I can tell you've opened up to me a lot,
You treat me as a sister or even a friend...
I am grateful for it too.
I am grateful to be your friend.
Maybe you and I are the same.
And maybe that's why we know each other very well.
I'm very surprised you saw past my walls,
And saw me for who I am.
Even then, time flies by whenever I talk to you.
You support me and my dreams,
And you also give me good advice.
Thank you.
I appreciate and love you too.a.b.
