"Weird," you said. "Why'd it turn green?" You lowered the sharp item to take a closer look at it.

Tsuki handed you the uniform that went with the delivery. "Green has been more common these days," she said. "But there are different meanings for it."

You remembered your art teacher telling you the different symbolism to colors. Green symbolized nature, and youth. The color was a sap green too. It reminded you of when you would go to Central Park before you moved to Japan. Your dad would bring you and Charlie there when your mom was busy enough not to know.

"I know green means nature, but I'm not an outdoors kinda gal," you said.

"Well that part isn't true in your case then," Tsuki giggled. "A demon slayer with a green sword is usually very generous and evoke renewal wherever they go. However, they are inexperienced when out of their element. The color can also come from luck or misfortune in the user's life."

You looked at the sword again. Currently, you were out of your element, and the sword knew that. You weren't in your own time, so of course you were inexperienced. It was the same thing two years ago. The only thing you knew was to wear the right clothes and you'd be fine. Blending in during the final selection would've been hard if Tanjirou didn't know who you were. There was also the part about renewal. It could've made a reference to how you could heal people in the blink of an eye.

Suddenly, you heard cawing along with something slamming into a window. In an instant, you put down the sword and opened the window. You hoped the bird that hit it didn't die on impact. The bird looked like the Kasugai crow you were assigned. Correction, it was the crow you were assigned. The bird got up and flew inside the house. "You could've given me a warning," you said.

"And you could've opened the window," the crow said.

You were taken aback by the crow giving you sass. "So he speaks," you said awkwardly.

"Of course I speak. How else would I give you missions?"

"A note."

The bird went silent for a second. It looked like he was regretting giving you sass. You couldn't really think about that since the bird started to talk again. "You have been ordered to go northwest of Mt. Sagiri," he said. "Young girls have been vanishing there as of late. Rumors suspect a demon is lurking there. You will be accompanying a boy named Tanjirou Kamado."

This was your first assignment as a demon slayer. You couldn't be more nervous about anything else. Not even going on stage for you school play. However, you were a little relieved. At least your new friend was going to be with you. Even if you are out of your element, someone would help you. You reached into your pocket and squeezed the cochlear implant. 'I'm doing this for Charlie,' you thought.

"You'd better get your uniform on," Tsuki said. You snapped back to reality and looked down at the clothing.

"Right," you said, and grabbed them. Surprisingly, the uniform had pockets.

Once you changed, you were about to head out the door, sword at your side. That was when Tsuki stopped you. "One more thing," she said. The older woman handed you a purple fabric that reminded you of a trench coat. The difference was that it looked more loose. It was light purple with dark purple lines that formed leaves. "It's an old haori I had when I was younger," she said. "I thought I would give it to you."

You took the clothing in your hands and put it on. Tsuki smiled. "I was right, it does suit you," she said.

You smiled and proceeded to go to the door. Before you opened it, you took a quick look back. "Thanks," you said. "For this and everything else."
