You stopped running when you got close enough to the figure. His hair was red, and really long. You could see it all the way back at the fountain. The man had his back to you. But despite being behind him, you saw the earrings he had. They were hanafuda earrings. You recognized them to be Tanjirou's. They were an exact copy of his earrings. A sword was at his hip. It seemed to be a Nichirin blade.

You remembered now. Your grandmother went into what your uncle looked like. They were mostly key features like his scar, and the earrings he had. Your five year-old self made fun of him for wearing something like that. Earrings were more of a girly thing in your time. Even Barbra wore some gold hoops every now and then.

'He has the same features far-mar described,' you thought.

But this man was your uncle. He was right in front of you. You almost couldn't believe it. This was a dream after all. This could be lucid dreaming that you were doing. Though it didn't seem like it. You didn't remember falling asleep so easily. Wait. The demon. They put you to sleep like they did with your friends and Rengoku. The ghost warned you about that happening. You weren't supposed to fall asleep at all. Yet you did. 'I'm so fucking stupid,' you thought. You weren't thinking at that time. And Tanjirou was just so warm. 'Stop it, do not bring the squad into this,' you thought.

"Hello," you said to the man in front of you.

He turned around, showing his face. His eyes were red, and the scar you imagined was on his forehead. It was exactly like Tanjirou's, right to the single curves and slashes. You practically memorized your friend's scar. You spent so much time with him. Your uncle's eyes stared at you with familiar emotions. There was joy, yet specs of sadness lingered.

You flinched when your uncle turned. You didn't know what he was going to say. 'Should I say something first. Well, I kinda did already,' you thought.

Silenced filled the garden for a matter of seconds. To you, they seemed like hours, maybe days. But then, your uncle said something. You heard his voice for the first time.

"You have Yukina's eyes," he said.

You recognized this voice. The calm and somewhat stoic voice of your uncle. 'Where have I heard this before?' you thought. Then it hit you. The ghost. Those ghosts giving you instructions. They told you not to fall asleep. You didn't listen to him at all. You covered your mouth with both hands as you stepped back. "Oh my god," you said. Your voice was muffled. You repeated the phrase over and over again. Taking in the information of what you did, and the man in front of you. He didn't seem phased at all.

When you looked up, you saw that your uncle was still looking at you. He didn't seem mad. Just confused. You couldn't tell with his expression.

"Um," you said. "I'm so sorry. I was being stupid. That whole 'falling asleep' thing was totally my fault. I know I should've listen to that weird ghost person. There was just so much going on. I was tired, and Tanjirou was all like, 'nah fam you ain't moving'. Well, he didn't actually say that. But that's beside the point. Then, I just fell asleep and now I'm here. And I'm sorry. Extremely sorry."

Your uncle looked at you for a second. Confusion was written all over him. He lifted his hand and placed it on top of your head, gently stroking it. You blinked a couple times. His actions reminded you of when Tanjirou did the same thing. 'What's with redheads and headpats?' you thought.

"They have forgiven you," your uncle said.

"So why am I here?" you asked.

"This place is supposed to protect you."
