"I'm telling you Tontaro, there's a demon in our house," Inosuke said. Currently, you, him, and Tanjirou were on one of the roofs for a regular meet up. Tanjirou only cocked his head at what the green eyed boy was saying.

You nodded along with Inosuke as he kept making random hand gestures to tell Tanjirou what the demon looked like. All the while, the redhead was trying to comprehend what the two of you were doing.

"Like this, can you tell if I do this?!" Inosuke said. His hands were crossed over each other, thumbs intertwined.

"That's definitely what they look like," you said. You even wondered how the demon had such an effect on your own heart.

"It was like this! I know that much," Inosuke had his arms up, imitating a bird.

Tanjirou held out one of his hands in a calming way. "Yeah yeah," he said. "I'm pretty sure Uzui and Zenitsu will be here soon for our meet up." His eyes were beady, like every time he was confused about something.

"Zenitsu won't be coming," you heard Uzui say. You looked to see that he was sitting a few feet away from the three of you. His slouching posture was a bit off from what you've seen of him. There wasn't even much coming from him.

"What do you mean Zenitsu's not coming?" Tanjirou asked.

"I think I put you guys in terrible danger," Uzui said. His voice was low.

You felt your heart stop altogether. Sure, being a demon slayer was all about danger, Uzui would've known that. So where there really was danger, it was hard for you to stay calm. Your only hope was that Zenitsu would be okay. He couldn't end up like everyone else you've let down in your life. It just couldn't be that way.

"My desire to look for my wives caused me to commit an error," Uzui said. "Zenitsu's whereabouts are unknown. He stopped contacting me last night. You three need to get out of here, now. Your ranks are too low. If the demon really is an upper moon, you can't deal with them."

"Say 'sike'...right now," you said.

"I wouldn't joke about something like this. And I'm regarding the ones who stopped contacting as dead. I'll be moving on my own."

Uzui was about to leave when Tanjirou stood up a bit. "No Uzui, we-" Tanjirou said before he was cut off by the hashira.

"Don't be ashamed, winners stay alive," Uzui said. "Don't mess this opportunity up."

With that, he was out of sight. You sat there on the roof, not knowing what just happened. What he said wasn't true right? Zenitsu was a strong person, even if he didn't believe it himself. He's faster than you, Inosuke, and Tanjirou combined. And that was saying something. 'He shouldn't be dead at all,' you thought, trying to make yourself believe it. You have been for the past few moments. Time went by a lot slower when you were just in your head.

Tanjirou gazed down at the ceiling. "Maybe he didn't believe in us is because we're part of the lowest class," he said.

"But we're at the kanoe rank right now, the fourth lowest," Inosuke said.

"Huh?" you and Tanjirou chorused.

Inosuke then held his hand up so his palm was facing his face. "Show us our ranks," he said. You cocked your head to the side. When Inosuke made a fist, a character showed up. You couldn't really tell what it meant. Tsuki never taught you that one in particular. Tanjirou only sat there, confused.

"Your hand wasn't itchy on the Wisteria mountains?" Inosuke asked the both of you.

Tanjirou looked down. "I felt an itch, but I was tired," he said.
