A Power-Up is Discovered

The female demon had thrown both of the balls. Their path had led them to the hole that was created earlier. You scooted away from Tanjirou's protective embrace, trying to follow the directions of the balls. They were moving so fast. It was almost like they were moving at light speed. You couldn't follow the movements with your own eyes. Yushiro still had his arms around Tamayo. His usual glare was even more intense than before.

In an instant, the balls were retracted back to the female demon A wicked smile was on her face. "You were right Yahaba," she said. "A house appeared out of nowhere." She seemed to be talking to the sort of blind demon.

"The handiwork of a blood demon art's wielder adept at hiding an object in plain sight," he said. "And are those demon slayers are accompanied by a demon?" The tone in his voice showed confusion. You felt your self grab the hilt of your sword. It had become an instinct at this point.

The girl only let out a laugh. It sounded playful, yet menacing at the same time. Your blood had run cold at the sound of it. "Isn't this fun?" she chimed.

"Still, I have to say Susumaru...the way you do things are so immature. You splattered dirt all over my kimono."

Yahaba brushed the dirt off the green kimono he had. 'How's he able to to that if his hands are eyes?' you thought. However, now wasn't the time to be curious. Right now, you had to do something before someone gets hurt.

The other demon only taunts Yahaba. "You're so uptight," she said. "Your kimono doesn't have that much dirt. And besides."

She paused, looking into the hall her toys had created. You were staring right back at her. She could probably sense who you were. Maybe the eye-hand demon can too. Tanjirou glared at the two demons in front of you. "Found 'em, found 'em," the crimson tipped demon said. She looked so excited to find you. You would think she thought it was a game, and she just won.

You got a closer look at the balls Susumaru had. They were patterned with white diamonds, along with green and red triangles. It looked like embroidery. 'They're temari right?' you thought. The balls looked like it.

Susumaru laughed as she threw the temari. They started to bounce on every wall in the room. Soon, one of them aimed for Yushiro and Tamayo.

Yushiro had stood in front of the other demon. "Lady Tamay-" he was cut off by the ball. You saw his head get cut clean off. His blood was splattered on the wall. You could only watch in horror as he fell backwards. Tamayo had caught him on his way down.

"Yushiro!" you heard Tanjirou shout. He looked down to the ground and cursed. The redhead then turned to his younger sister. "Nezuko, take the lady and find somewhere safe outside."

"The basement is safer," Tamayo said. "It's too dangerous outside."

"Understood. Nezuko."

Nezuko took no time to tend to the woman and rush down to the basement. She was so fast, you almost didn't know she moved. You slowly stood up to face the demons in front of you. Susumaru had her temari in her hands.

"That's one down," she said with a giggle. The demon then looked you and Tanjirou. You firmly gripped onto your sword and started to pull it out. You kept looking at the demons with a harsh glare. 'Not today panic attacks,' you thought.

It was only until you were caught off guard, that a panic attack threatened to come. "The demon hunter with the hanafuda-like earrings and the demon hunter with the purple leafed haori. That's you two right?" Susumaru said.

Your feet weren't able to move at that point. It was like someone had frozen you down to the floor. You started to tremble. Even though you didn't want to. 'Calm yourself,' you thought. You took deep breaths. They were targeting you and Tanjirou. You knew why Kibutsuji wanted you, but why Tanjirou. Was it because he's associated with you?
