You were sitting out by the deck of the house. It was another night that you couldn't sleep. The moon had left a silver glow to your face. It was in its waxing gibbous phase tonight. A few clouds were obscuring its view a little bit. Stars were cascading the sky to keep it company. You played with your hair with a solemn look on your face.
To keep yourself from getting bored, you had lowered the gravity on a small rock and let it bounce around. It was surprising that the sound wasn't waking anyone up. Other than that, you felt calm. Your powers was something that you hadn't practiced while no one was watching. In fact, you were nervous that you would get caught. However, you felt kinda ballsy, so you didn't mind bouncing a rock around.
Then, you remembered your mom. She was someone that you would barely see. Someone that didn't really care about you or Charlie. There was one time where you overheard her say something about you and your deaf twin on the phone.
I never wanted to have two dirty witches.
Maybe these powers were what she was talking about. It seemed to make sense. The powers you had weren't in anyone else. "Mamma was right," you muttered. "I am a dirty witch." You knew your mom was religious, but not to that extent. Also, you never found out who she was talking to. You released the hold you had on the rock and caught it. This was the punishment you had gotten for being a witch wasn't it. Your dad and sister were killed because you didn't know beforehand. You stared at the rock, tears threatening to drain themselves onto your cheeks.
Suddenly, you felt something on your head. It felt like a hand. You turned to see Nezuko. A gentle look was in her eyes. 'She's a lot like her brother isn't she,' you thought. The demon kept gently stroking your head. You felt your face start to heat up. It was a little embarrassing to have her see you like this.
"I'm alright Nezuko," you said sheepishly. "You don't have to worry." You moved Nezuko's hand off your head. The demon didn't seem to be convinced however. She wrapped her arms around your shoulders and pulled you into a hug. At first, you tensed up, but you felt yourself relax after a second. The two of you stayed like that for awhile. You felt yourself grow fuzzy inside. Nezuko must've noticed you being all depressed and using your powers. It was weird, but you were happy that she found you.
You pulled away and held the rock out to Nezuko. "Wanna see something cool?" you asked. The demon girl tilted her head and hummed. Then, you proceeded to bounce the rock by taking away some of its gravity. The demon's stared at it with amazement.
"I guess it isn't so bad that you know," you said. "I'm actually wondering when the boys will figure out that I'm Lunar." You smiled as you and Nezuko watched the bouncing rock, enjoying each other's company.
"You're all fully healed," the old woman said after examining you and the boys. "It was quite quick actually. Especially the boys' broken ribs." You tried to avoid eye contact with anyone. Maybe no one would suspect anything with you that way.
On that same day, you and Tanjirou's crows flew in through an open door. Their squawks were filling the room in no time at all. "North-northeast, North-northeast," they chorused. "Your next mission is north-northeast. You must go to Mt. Natagumo. Head to Mt. Natagumo." They were loud enough to give you another headache. 'I'm getting these more often than I should,' you thought.
After changing into your uniform, you met up with the boys to go to the mountain. "We're heading out now," Tanjirou said. "Thank you for everything." The redhead bowed along with Zenitsu. You saw what they were doing, and awkwardly bowed as well.
The old woman then took out a flint and steel. "For good luck," she said.
"Thank you so much," the redhead smiled with gratitude while turning his back to her. Zenitsu had done the same. The old woman then struck the flint and steel, creating sparks. You tilted your head in confusion. Then, you opened your mouth when you were interrupted by Inosuke, who was back in his mask.
