You've been trying to move around with one leg for awhile now. The thing was that balance was not your strong suit. You didn't believe that you even had a strong suit anyways. Yet you kept trying. All because you didn't want anyone to start carrying you around. You remembered people saying that you were too heavy in your own time. Plus, Tomioka carrying you on Mt. Natagumo was still embarrassing. You also didn't want anyone to help you either. Things were bad enough with all the guilt building up inside you. It was staring to make things you wouldn't do seem more compelling. Like using a knife to cut your own skin. Those thoughts would cloud your brain if your friends weren't there.
As you hit the floor again, you grunted. "Shit," you muttered. You hit it face first this time. Thankfully, you were close to your bed and you used it to help you get up. 'Hopping on one leg is hard,' you thought as you got up. You held onto the side table, regaining your balance. As you groaned, you held onto your head. Who knew that falling on your face would actually hurt a lot? Or maybe that was the other injuries you sustained on the train.
Rengoku, h-he saved your life.
Tanjirou told you that a couple days ago. He had said it with an amount of sadness you've never seen him have. It was awful for you to see him like it. Yet it made you more determined to start walking on your own once more. 'No more guilt,' you thought. That's what Charlie said to you all those years ago.
You got up on your feet again, ready to try and hop out of the room. That was when someone knocked on the door. "What's the password?" you called.
"Password," you heard Kanao's light voice.
You paused for a second. "Correct, come in," you said. You made a smug face. 'And Zenitsu thought using "password" was a dumb idea,' you thought. You then saw Kanao walk into the room. Her cape was off, revealing her normal demon slayer uniform. She tilted her head as she saw what you were trying to do.
"I thought you couldn't move," she said.
"Doesn't mean I can still try," you said.
Kanao ushered you back to laying in your bed, much to your dismay. 'At least she isn't babying me like the squad does,' you thought. There was a comfortable silence between the two of you. It was always like this when you hung out. Kanao wasn't one to talk very much. You wondered if you should give her food to have her talk a little more. It's worked with you lots of times.
"Is today a good day, or a bad day?" you asked.
"Good day," Kanao answered.
"Those have happened a lot lately."
The tsuguko hummed, questioning why you said that. "Don't worry, it's a good thing," you said. "But that reminds me...my dad would make pancakes if me and my twin both had a bad day."
"Pancakes?" Kanao tilted her head.
You then dramatically gasped. "You've never had pancakes. They're like the best breakfast food ever," you said. "That's it. I'm making you pancakes when I can move my leg again."
Kanao blinked once, twice. "Okay?" she said. It never came across to her about how strange you are. Though, you did seem excited to make these, so called, pancakes. Her heart skipped a beat, finding your excitement cute. She couldn't understand what she was feeling. Yet Kanae mentioned it before. A crush, was it? That seemed like the right word. It was an interesting feeling for her to experience around another girl. And she liked it.
A white haired girl lead you throughout the Ubuyashiki household. She was holding onto your wrist with a firm grip. 'Who told her about my lack of sense in directions?' you thought. Although, you were glad to have your scarred leg start moving again. Kocho mentioned that the poison was simple to counteract.
