"What did I tell you!" Zenitsu yelled. "A demon showed up. A demon showed up, understand."
The demon from under the floorboards started to make its way to you three. Zenitsu grabbed you and Shoichi's hands and started to run away. His grip on your hand was strong for a cowardly guy. 'My hand might get crushed from his grip alone,' you thought.
"W-we don't taste good," the yellow haired boy screeched. "I'm sure I don't taste good at all. This kid's all skin and bones, and the girl barely has a heart beat. They'd taste ghastly."
'How did he know that?' you thought. There would be no way he knew by first glance right? You wondered if he had a heightened sense of hearing or something. Tamayo had told you to watch for those kinds of people. You looked back to see the demon extending his tongue like a frog. "I wouldn't know until I have a taste," it said. Then, the tongue made its way over to Shoichi. Zenitsu, thankfully tugs him away so he wouldn't get hit. Instead, the demon's tongue split a vase in two. It was quite a pretty vase too.
Zenitsu looked back at the demon as well. His pupils were dilated from unadulterated fear. "What was that? Quick tongued?" he yelled. "Splitting a vase in two." The demon used its tongue again. This time, it was heading strait at you. You were able to move fast enough so you wouldn't get hit. Zenitsu screamed when he saw the tongue get so close to him. He grabbed onto Shoichi and jumped to the side, with you being pulled along for the ride. "Impossible," he yelled.
That was when the three of you got thrown into another room. It was empty with a dim light and tatami floor. You and Shoichi got up from the fall, but Zenitsu was still on the ground. "Zenitsu, get up," Shoichi called.
The yellow haired boy lifted his head up slightly to look at the young boy. "My knees, 80 percent of my fear is in my knees now," he said.
"You can walk it off," you said. "Just get up."
"This is no time to whine alright," Shoichi said.
"Just leave me behind okay," Zenitsu's expression drooped. "Make a run for it."
"I can't do that."
You grabbed his shoulder and the other demon slayer looked up at you. "Don't say something like that," you yelled. "You're one of the few friends I have."
Zenitsu kept looking at you. He saw the worried look in your eyes. Your heartbeat had gotten a little less frequent. You called him your friend. The yellow haired boy then looked at Shoichi. The kid was braver than he was. 'If I don't protect him, what will become of him? Dying before double digits would be way too tragic. But I'm so horribly weak,' he thought.
Shoichi touched one of Zenitsu's shoulders. "Get up," he said.
You looked up and saw that the demon got to the room. Its tongue was extending out to the three of you. "I'm gonna muzzle out that brain matter of yours," it said. Zenitsu was frozen from where he was laying down. His eyes were closed, and you could hear snoring come from him.
"Zenitsu," Shoichi said to the boy. You poked his cheek to see what was going on. 'He fell asleep,' you thought. With one person out of commission, you had to do something. Using your gravity control would be good for now. There was only the risk of Shoichi finding out. 'I guess I can live with that,' you thought.
Gravity started to take it's focus onto the demon. Its remaining space is had from the ground was gone. You felt yourself grow light headed. The demon tried to get itself back up, but is wasn't moving. Shoichi looked at the demon, then back at you. The look he had was pretty suspicious on what you were doing.
You grabbed Zenitsu's arm. "Help me pull him to the back wall," you said. "I can handle the demon once he's safe." The little boy nodded and grabbed Zennitsu's other arm. All the while, you were starting to lose your grip on gravity. The demon started to get lighter, and his gravity acceleration was back at 9.8. 'Not good,' you thought. The demon started to swing its tongue around at you and Shoichi, hoping to get to one of you.
