(So this is a throwback in Alice's life. She is sixteen in this chapter.)

My dad is dead. He was one person that actually got me, knew I was someone or going to be someday. I had a future and plans, but those aren't going to happen anymore. I was suppose to move to New York and be a magazine editor. That's not going to happen now. I finish the whole bottle of vodka. Why haven't I passed out yet? This cocaine has barley worked. I get some more cocaine on the table. Maybe a little more will do the it.
....
I wake up the next morning to find myself in a random, extremely hot guys room. His sandy, blonde hair is a mess. I even have great taste when I'm messed up. He wakes up as I try and slide out of bed quietly.

"Hey." He smiles at me.

"Hi. I was just leaving." I whisper and start putting my clothes back on.

"You can stay longer if you want." He sits up. Tattoos cover his perfectly sculpted body. "We didn't have sex by the way."

He looks over eighteen. I probably shouldn't tell him I have to go to school. "I need to go let me dog out." I lie.

"Alri-" I get out of his apartment as fast as I can.

I call a cab. I walk back and forth on the sidewalk kicking small rocks. The cab pulls up. I give the cab driver the address to my moms new husbands huge house. I think she only married him for his money, but she says she has moved on from dad dying. I don't know how she could marry anyone else. We were fine before she married him. We weren't rich, but we weren't poor. Now we have enough money to buy anything we could ever want. For five lifetimes. My mom likes to act like we are a perfect family, and that I am always gone doing extra stuff for my school, but I'm probably getting too drunk to remember my name.

"Miss?" The guy interrupts my thinking.

I look up and see we are at my house. I give him some money and get out of the car. My sisters car is here as always on Wednesday mornings. I open the front door and she is feeding her little baby girl baby food. The orange baby food is all over the kid.

"You were out all night again?" She asks barley looking at me.

"Yeah what about it?"

"You should stop pretending your doing all this because of dad." She makes eye contact with me but I look away.

"It is." I lie. It use to be because of dad dying, but now I don't know why I feel the need to get messed up.

"Whatever." She shakes her head. "Are you going to school today?"

"I should, but are you going to tell mom if I don't?"

"Yes, and she will be here soon. I have a patient." My sister is a doctor.. I think that's why she is our moms favorite. No, she is probably our moms favorite because I'm a druggy.

"Fine I'll go to school." I go upstairs to my large room.

"Your going to be late if you don't hurry." She calls to me upstairs.

I put on a long sleeved black shirt and some jeans. I walk down the stairs.

"When was the last time you have gone a day without one drink, or one hit thing of drugs?" She has no idea what she is talking about.

"Not long enough." I slam the door behind me. Good thing my car is still here. My mom has been threatening forever that she is going to sell it.

I get in my car and drive to school. I get out and walk inside. Seth comes up to me and puts his arm around me. He has been wanting to date me forever, but I don't date, or get involved in any relationship at all.
