*Your pov.*

The sweet scent of freshly made almonds and hot chocolate fills my nostrils as I stroll alongside the crowded street. Usually, I would hopscotch across the Christmas market and admire all the sparkling lights and wonderful decorations which were set up everywhere in the city for this time of the year. But currently I don't feel like jumping around and venerating the huge Christmas tree. At the moment I am not in the mood to watch couples happily holding hands while sharing in chocolate covered strawberries.

A light breeze hits my bare face and I wrap my arms even tighter around my coat. Despite the warm beanie on my head and the cozy gloves on my hands I get goosebumps. Seeing people drink hot coffee and punch makes me jealous, even though I could easily buy myself some.

I'm cold, my eyes are burning and I'm alone. The tears have mostly disappeared, but every time I think about the conversation I had earlier I feel the urge to cry. As soon as I arrive home I'd take off my clothes, put on some comfortable pajama, crawl under the soft bedcover and bawl my eyes out.

At the thought of finally releasing my pain and sadness I walk across a narrow street, not paying attention to any traffic, and almost get hit by a car. I stop dead in my tracks when I hear the extremely loud horn. My mouth opens wide as soon as I notice the black Jaguar next to me. The car almost crashed into me and it only would've taken a few more centimeters and my leg would've been broken.

»Y/n?«, I suddenly perceive a male voice call out my name.

I put my right hand in front of my face to prevent the headlights from blinding me and catch sight of a familiar figure standing next to the sports car. The driver slowly approaches me. I notice some white sneakers, dark jeans, a black leather jacket and a white sweater underneath, some beautiful pair of lips, a sharp jawline, high cheekbones and...Oh, no! I would recognize those deep brown eyes anywhere. It's him.

»McCann«, I sigh giving him a fake smile.

Why did I have to bump into him? As if tonight wasn't bad enough, I had to run into the leader of assholes. What luck...not!

»Wow«, he says lifting both of his brows,»You look terrible!«

»Thank you, idiot!«, I emphasize the last word,»Right back at you!«

He chuckles and slightly bites his lower lip as he examines my trembling body. I dig my nails into the smooth fabric of my jacket and try to stand as still as I possible can. However, I can't keep my legs from shaking and my teeth from chattering.

»Do you need a ride?«, he wonders with a genuine smile on his face.

»From you? No, thanks!«, I respond not letting myself get sucked into...whatever game he is playing.

»Come on! I don't bite!«, he retorts grinning shortly,»Besides, if you stay outside any longer I'm afraid you could actually turn into an ice sculpture.«

He is not wrong. Even though I'm wearing an exceedingly warm coat and a beanie that covers half of my face I am freezing. I've always been overly sensitive when it came to cold weather, but until now it was no problem because I had a boyfriend who would lend me his jacket.

»Fine! You will drive me home and then we will never talk about it again, understood?«, I hesitantly accept his offer.

»Sure!«, he shrugs casually,»I don't want anyone to know I was with you as much as you don't want anyone to find out you were with me.«

»Perfect!«, I say and rush to the car.

Quickly I open the door and sit inside the passenger's seat of the sports car. Holy crap! The heated seat under me straight away defrosts my iced butt. I lean my head back and close my eyes for a brief moment. A satisfied moan slips out of my mouth.
