"Ouch! Are your chests made of metal?" She groaned and rubbed her nose.
"Sorry short-stuff. We couldn't help with over-hearing your conversation in there." Ryan shrugged.
I stomped over and pointed at the two, glaring at them. "Who invited you two to be here? This is confidential information. Stupid Delta, you're not allowed to leave your confinement area. Where's Olivia?"
"I don't know, I think she was making out with some guy in the back."
Oh, that girl was going to get it later.
"West, I told you to stay in your room!" I said.
"I was just following Ryan. I hadn't seen him in a while."
"How come you're an Alpha yet you're so laid-back?!" Jennalyn stood beside me, growling at him. "All that information is going to be in your memory. Do you want me to cut out your brain and throw it out the window!?"
"Wow, these ladies are really feisty." He chuckled.
You were listening to things we didn't want you to listen to!" She growled.
"Perhaps. But we already know some information you might want to know before ripping out our organs."
That stopped us short from pouncing on them. Information? These bastards actually knew things?
"We'll give it to you. For a price. I know you'll be curious Miss Alpha." West smirked.
"What price? I'm not letting you free." I said, low.
"Trust me, love, I'm not going anywhere," West replied, his eyes darkening.
I felt my heartbeat had just sped up just a little bit.
"We just want you to let us roam around at your pack. We won't do anything. It kind of sucks for two big males to be just left alone in a house all day." Ryan broke through our staring competition.
"That's it?" Jen asked, crossing her arms.
They nodded then she blew out a breath. "Alpha Isla, this is your decision to make. I think in my opinion we should agree."
"Me too. We need whatever snip of information we can get." Mallory said quietly.
I pondered the pros and cons. If I said no we probably would have a missing piece to the puzzle of what the Moon Goddess spoke about and I would have to say yes or just live with that missing piece until whatever was happening, happened. If I said yes they could learn about our pack and then bring the information to their own pack. Then again, West was my mate. Pros seemed to outweigh the cons.
"Fine. It's a deal." I shook hands with West and ushered them back into the office. "Mal, do you want to stay or get the paper?"
"I'll get the paper. Just tell me whatever it is when I come back. I don't know how long it'll take me to find it."
"I'll come with you." Ryan walked out with her.
I snorted. Jen and West looked at me weirdly. "What? He follows her like a dog wagging his tail. It's kind of obvious."
"It is kind of weird because Ryan doesn't like just any girl. He's waiting for his mate. But for some reason, he's interested in Mallory."
"Whatever. Anyway, this information better be good. We have all the rights to just throw you back into the cells." Jen said, slumping down onto a chair.
"Mallory is special. The Moon Goddess was just telling her and you guys. There will be a huge war from the outside falling onto the valley. It could wipe us all out. What's worse is that we won't know when it will happen, it'll just sneak upon us." West said, sitting down on a chair as he explained.
Jen and I looked at each other in shock. A war? It was hard enough to even take down a pack let alone many packs if this was going to be considered a war.
"Your Delta will be in that war. I don't know if she's going to stop it, prevent it, make it a little less bombarding, I don't know. At least you know it's something big."
"How did you figure this out?" I asked, curiously.
"Took me years. I had some old scrolls that I deciphered with my Beta and Delta but we finally got the last part when an old witch came along."
I put my face in my arms on the table. "This is going to be a disaster. I'm extremely thankful we have Mallory, but a war this big..."
"How do you think I feel, Isla? I'm not near my pack when I should be." West said, his voice hardening a little bit.
I didn't look up but felt a twinge of guilt in my heart. "Thank you, Mr. Alpha. You can go to your room now." I said, avoiding the subject. I heard him growl low as if he was being treated like a child but I ignored it as he closed the door behind him.
"Alpha Isla, can I ask what is between you and that prisoner?" Jen asked, quietly. "You don't treat him like your other prisoners. Whenever you're with him it's like there's a connection between you two. It's as if you two are--" She stopped short then her eyes widened.
"Yes, Jen. West Hunter is my mate." I didn't want it to be figured out, it was too soon to have a mate. I was still figuring out things for my pack and especially more so now that the war was going to approach us.
"No wonder you made us go the other way in that tunnel the last time." Jennalyn breathed, drumming her fingers on the table. "You sensed your mate."
The door opened and Mallory pranced in holding the paper. "Alright guys, I read the paper but it isn't anything special. Just some magazine was torn up that I just happened to be holding. Woah, what's going on?" She took in Jen's shocked face and my I'm-done-with-life look.
"Isla's mate is the prisoner," Jen said, still not believing it.
"Oh, wow, Ryan? That's um, wow. Congrats." Mallory smiled softly, looking at me.
"No, no, it's West Hunter," I said before she could feel sad. I felt there was a buzz between Mal and Ryan, despite them not being mates.
"Woah, really?" Mallory slid in the seat next to mine, her eyes glittering. "How long have you known this? It's the Dark Moon's Alpha!"
"I knew the minute we kidnapped them. I just didn't expect it to be this soon. Heck, I didn't even know I would have one."
Mallory laughed quietly. "Well, why didn't you? Isla, I know your past wasn't great, but whatever people told you then, isn't real. Every werewolf has a soul mate, the Moon Goddess always provides one, no matter who the person is. It was her gift to us. You have your other half! Isn't it great?" She asked, putting a hand on my arm, smiling at me.
"But, it's too soon. I'm this pack's female Alpha. I want to show the pack that even a girl can do anything without a man."
"And you can! You may not have the title 'Alpha' but you will have the same physical strength as one and most importantly, the spirit. You'll still be loved by your people. You're fire and you won't be strung down by a man, especially not West. Even if I didn't know he was your mate, I could see he was amazed by what you had done to the Sunshine pack."
"She's right, Alpha. Literally, everything that Mallory said was true." Jen said, standing up and looking at me. "You're beautiful and kind, perfect for a Luna. You were a Luna from the start, but born in a female Alpha title."
I smiled, looking at my two friends. I didn't deserve such wonderful girls who were great supporters.
"You guys are amazing. Thank you so much. Oh Mal, by the way, there's a war coming." I said, deciding to drop the bomb now than later.
"What?!"
