We left the MoonStone Pack in the morning to go to our next destination, the Shadow Pack. Mallory was feeling unwell which had us all worried. We couldn't risk losing more days until the war started, plus it looked like she wasn't getting any better.
"The Shadow Pack has a pretty mean Alpha. Who knows if they will even allow us to enter." West said quietly. I sat in the back with Mallory's legs over my lap and her head on Ryan's.
"They have to. This is so strange though. She seemed perfectly fine just until we were about to leave." Ariella whispered, looking back at the sleeping Delta.
Ryan kept stroking her mass of curls, refusing to let her see the pack doctor at Lance's place. He said something in him wasn't right.
I groaned and hit my head on the headrest multiple times. "What are we going to do? If anything, we'll have to camp in the car but it's like she's not up for that."
"Listen Alpha, we'll just have to go the Shadow Pack. We'll keep her in here until or if we're able to get in. That's the most logical answer." Ariel said until we reached the territory.
West nodded, got out, and opened my door. "Ryan will stay here with her. The rest of us will talk to Alpha Osmin." I looked at Mal's face that had beads of sweat running down it.
"Okay." I agreed and took West's hand.
Unlike Lance's extravagant pack, the Shadow Pack was pretty normal, about the same size as ours. The difference was that all of their houses were cabins. I could smell the wood burning in the fireplace. Ferns and trees surrounded the area with the dark mountains in the background, exactly like how an artist would paint a picture.
"Stop! Who goes there?" Two guards stood in front of us, however, I could feel as if they wouldn't hurt us unless they had a real reason to.
"Hello, I'm West, the Alpha from the Darkmoon Pack. This is my mate, the Alpha of the Sunshine Pack. We're here to have a meeting with Alpha Osmin." He introduced himself.
"Darkmoon? You attacked us years ago." The first blonde guard said, growling a little.
He sighed. "Actually, that was more like my father's duties."
The brown-haired one put a hand on his companion's shoulder and nodded. "Let them in."
"Alright. Let's go."
They led us through their territory, nothing really standing out to us. The wolves barely glanced at us, as if they got random visitors all the time. I saw many werewolves in their human forms training. Maybe that was different about this pack from others.
A noticeably bigger cabin stood out in the middle, its logs made of dark dyed wood. "This is the Alpha's cabin. You can go in, just tell him that Bryce let you." Blondie said, opening the doors. "We're not allowed in."
West nodded. "Thank you."
As we walked inside the large home, I whispered to him, "Ariella is watching right? I remember you saying that this guy put up with nothing."
"She's there." He reassured me. "Probably hiding in one of those trees. Red knows when to fire."
I snickered. "Ariel also knew when to fire when Lance was talking about the cup size of the Moon Goddess."
The doors opened from a room and a man, most likely in his forties, came out, along with a petite gorgeous woman who looked about in her thirties. The man had slicked-back dark hair with gray hair sprinkled in and icy blue eyes, nevertheless, you could consider him handsome. The woman looked extremely cheerful and had dirty blonde hair with hazel eyes.
