When I got back to Lacey's room, she was slipping her feet into extremely high heels. My mouth dropped open. I was supposed to dance in those things?! Well, now wasn't the time to think about it. We needed to go through with the plan.
She handed me a pair of blue heels to go with my ugly dress. "So, how do we know which one he picks? I need him to pick me. Oh, and don't worry, I'll make sure you'll come with us." I said, wobbling in the shoes.
"Whoever is the sexiest, I guess. I've watched Him for years, it just depends. We found each other two years ago. Oh, I'm twenty. Pretty young to be a mate, right? He's only picked me...twice, I think." Lacey said as she watched me buckle a small pack around my leg. "What's that?"
I shrugged. "Nothing of much concern. You'll realize it sooner or later what it is. How are your bruises?"
"It happens. Let's go." She opened the heavy door, obviously not wanting to go further on the subject. I could understand why. He was an Alpha. While she, well, was an Omega. She couldn't do anything.
We walked down the dark hallways, me following Lacey. It was obvious she did this every evening, her steps not hesitant at all. We stopped at a box with a curtain in front of it, it was remarkably similar to the outside of a photo booth.
She turned to me. "You must check your appearance before going in. He doesn't like messy women."
I stepped in and gasped. The whole box was filled with mirrors, tons of mirrors. The floor even had a mirror. I gagged, obviously, he wanted us to be fully prepared. My hair was always tied up in a ponytail, which made my hair a little longer than shoulder length. I bit my lip then let my orange waves fall down to its almost waist length. I guess you could consider it, 'sexy'.
There was a door handle on the sidewall next to the mirror which opened to an enormous stone wall auditorium. There were no chairs, however. Men and women were milling around; the ladies were practicing the dances while the boys were putting up side tables for the food. There was a big stage with a red leather throne and a curtain behind it. This was probably for 'Him' to sit on. Over-cocky bastard.
"Come, let's go." Lacey ushered me to follow her to the women's side. "Once the bell rings, I can't talk to you. I hope you get chosen." She smiled and started to practice, her face turning serious. This was actually happening. I needed to be serious so the plan could move further.
Suddenly, a gong sounded throughout the room, scaring me half to death. The men moved in a line around the tables, holding plates in their hands. We walked towards the middle and kneeled down on the floor, waiting to start our prance.
A man walked out onto the stage, three other women dressed like us, surrounding him. This was Alpha Dyna. I received his name when Lacey was talking about him. Her main focus was him yet he threw that all away for treating his pack like servants. He acted as if he was a king; it disgusted me.
Dyna though didn't seem like any regular Alpha. This guy was extremely tall and muscular, even bigger than West. He had waist-length black hair that was tied in a golden band. He wore a red robe that enveloped his whole body. What was more frightening was his eyes, strikingly gold.
"We bless Him for eternity! We follow Him for eternity! Long live Him!" Everyone said in unison, bowing to the floor.
The music started and so did our dance. I followed the moves exactly as Lacey told me too. The fear motivated me to not be careless. Now it would be even harder to seduce him than before. If Ryan didn't get the crew to me in time...I shut my eyes tightly, not wanting to think of having this distasteful man taking me before West did.
