West and I gathered at the territory line to greet the packs that were coming in. As we stood there, I could feel a little bit of tension sparking back and forth between us. We weren't able to do much since we were interrupted. I wanted to say something...I had to say something.

"Felicia! Why won't my mouth move?!"

"Hey, this isn't a me thing. Your spirit needs to wake up." She murmured.

I opened my mouth when suddenly he said, "I promise."

My eyebrows furrowed together. "Promise what?"

"After this war is over...when we are alive...I promise I will take you and mate you when we're finally alone and show you that I love you with all my heart." West turned to look at me with such intensity in those interesting eyes.

I was about to respond when I heard the pounding on many wolves' paws in the forest. "They're here!" I said excitedly. I was eagerly thinking about how our packs would unite and fight against the Dark. For the first time, we wouldn't be at each other's throats. We would make history.

Out of the trees, I saw Lance's wolf first, then two wolves next to him, I assumed his Beta and Delta. His large pack was behind them, howling, announcing their entrance. West grabbed the couple blankets we had so that at least the Alpha's could shift when they come.

Lance shifted and my mate threw a blanket at him, promptly smacking him in the face. He then covered my eyes and I sighed. My mate was sometimes way too overprotective. Then again, Lance was a player and would strut his stuff so maybe this was for the better.

By the time, I could see again, the Alpha was standing up and covered with a blanket. He smiled at me and waved his hand in a curved direction. "I present to you, the Eastern pack. Do you have a place for us to stay?"

"Welcome." I smiled. "There's a large building, that's the packhouse, just beyond the pine trail. You will be staying on the right side of it. There are tents for each family and you can go into the house for some food and other necessary essentials. If it's alright Lance, I would like for you and your council to come with our Beta to speak about some other things."

He nodded. The pack went down the trail and Mallory showed up. His eyes grew wide at the sight of her. "Wait...Beta?"

"There's been some temporary position changes. No need to question it. Follow her, please. Oh, and I will hear of it if you do ask." I looked at Mal and she nodded as they followed her.

I let out a breath and West growled. "I will never be on good terms with that guy."

"At least just work with him for now. We could better the valley. We could live in harmony! Think about it. Oh, there's the northern pack, now!"

Rosemary and Osmin in their wolf form sped out of the forest, along with their own pack. Though they weren't as large as Lance's, there were still multiple more compared to the Sunshine pack. West pulled two more blankets out of the basket and I helped Rosemary while he helped Osmin's.

The cheerful little lady hugged me tightly. "Oh, it's just wonderful to see you darlings again, just wonderful! It was a horrible thing, the minute that dark shadow appeared in the mountains. But Ozzy, being such a loving Alpha, gathered up all the pups and we headed down, assuming to go to your pack."

West snickered and I smacked him in the chest. "Yes, I'm glad you came here. We realized we should have told you a place that we should all meet up. Your pack will be staying on the left side of the large building, it's just down the trail. If you two will come with us?"

We all split up and Rose filled us in on what the Dark looked like. They never saw the source, only that it was an extremely dark shadow that made it look as if it were night time in broad daylight.

"Interesting..." We were sitting at the dinner table eating a roast that Jenna had whipped up.

"Alpha Isla, most of my warriors are good at defending," Osmin stated, putting his knife down. "I think we should think mostly think about protecting your pack instead of fighting it."

"Are you kidding?" Lance stood up, shaking the peas.

Jenna held the bowl to keep it from toppling over. "Lance!" She said sharply.

He ignored her and growled lightly. "We need to completely execute the enemy from the beginning while it's small."

"It would be safer this way," Osmin said, getting up.

Lance scoffed. "Only you would think that, old man. We need to be in the front."

"Hah. I was waiting a long time for this." The older Alpha grabbed a knife from his holder and clashed it with Lance's already waiting knife.

"Ozzy, stop this right now!" Rosemary said, her face getting redder by the minute.

"Lance, you better put that darn knife down!" Mallory said, shouting. None of us wanted to get in between them, considering they were two huge Alphas with knives.

My blood was boiling by the second and this was the limit. I slammed my fist down on the table, causing them to look at me. My hazel eyes flashed at the two. "Are you kidding me? What are you, children? Right now you are in my pack and you will listen to my orders since I gave you refuge, otherwise, you would still be under the Dark shadow."

They lowered their heads like little boys who were caught as if they stole a cookie from the cookie jar. "Now, I like both of your tactics. I say we use both. Alphin Osmin will be the back of the army. Alpha Lance, your pack will be the front. Today, this evening, sort out the pups and elderly that won't be fighting and keep them in the tents. The ones that will be fighting, go to the training area. Olivia will be taking a chart of who is fighting, then go to sleep."

Everyone nodded and left, all except my council and West. Everybody let out a deep sigh of relief and West leaned back. "Darn, I didn't realize how much tension there could be between sections of the valley. Lance really needs to get a mate."

Mal bit her lip and looked at me. "Um, West, he actually does."

His eyes widened and he sat up. "Really?"

"Yes. He just ignores her. In fact, he kept her under his mansion, as far as the spies said. As for now, I don't know where he left Caitlyn but..."

"Men these days are really messed up." He whistled.

"There's a reason though. Every time they try to go be next to each other, there's some sort of...barrier. I think this is why Lance is so...player-ish. He's trying to make up for what he can't have. It's a subject that is never spoken of. Also, he's so enthusiastic about the fight is because maybe he can ask the Moon Goddess on what is going on." I shrugged, crossing my arms.

"Poor guy."

Jenna sighed. "Well, let's go to sleep. We're in for something hardcore in the morning. Um...I love you girls. In case something bad happens."

"Not me?" Mr. Alpha piped up.

"Not you."
