Eva's POV
Should I be scared of her?

"Eva, wake up," Cas whispers, shaking me slightly.
"Ngh... Cas...? What's going on?" I yawn, forcing my eyes open. "What time is it?"
"Midnight."

Oh, right. Cas' birthday.

With a laugh, I sit up, stretching as I do so.

"Well, no point sitting around here. Let's go," I say, jumping up to my feet.

It's a tradition that on our birthdays, we wake up at midnight and sit up on the roof and mess around with fireworks and sparklers until someone else wakes up. We've been able to get away with it without anyone knowing for the past few years, but now we don't just have Maven and Charlie to worry about. We've got mum, Cassie and Hunter as well, in addition to any general threats we may face.

"Come on, come on," he whispers, watching as I climb out my window. Whilst Cas gets to fly to the roof, I've had to learn the best way to climb up there without falling. Though any time I have almost fell, Cas has caught me.

"Gimme a sec, if I'm not careful, I might fall," I reply, pushing myself up. "Hey, lend me a hand."

He turns into his human form and grabs my hand, pulling me up with one tug. The whole area has already been set up, some fireworks and a ton of sprinklers placed on a flat part of the roof, right by the chimney.

"I suggest we stick to sparklers for now. Whilst Maven and Charlie sleep like logs, I can't guarantee anyone will sleep through the fireworks," Cas says. "You'll have to do the honour of lighting them."
"Come on, I know you know some basic magic. Give it a try, just one flame," I reply, "Look, I'll make one too."

The pink flame rises from my fingertip and he stares in awe momentarily. That's when he holds up his own finger, and with a lot of focus, an orange flame bursts to life, almost startling both of us.

"I did it," he gapes, eyes wide.
"Yeah! Come on then, let's light some sparklers." I grab two sparklers and light one of them with my pink flame after passing the other to Cas. He does the same, using his own flame to light his.

"I forgot how much I love these," Cas giggles, a grin forming on his face.
"Same... lets blow up just one firework. Okay? Just one, and hopefully they won't wake up," I say as my sparkler dies down. Before Cas can respond, I grab a firework from the box and examine it closely.

"Where did you get these? I mean, just thinking about it, I can't figure out when you could've grabbed them."
"A thief can't just go around revealing their secrets. You should know that better than anyone else," he laughs.
"True, what colour is it then?"
"Blow it up and you'll see."

I position the firework delicately, and usher Cas away. Then, after getting another flame to appear, I light the end of it, and run towards him.

Barely seconds later, it launches into the sky and explodes with a large bang. Trails of pink light explode from it and Cas laughs as he watches as I gape in amazement.
"Pink. It seemed appropriate. I've been seeing so much of it recently, though I suppose that isn't a good thing. If I see pink on you, it means you're bleeding."
"Not necessarily. Red on you should mean you're bleeding, but often, it's something different. Like a blush or something. My cheeks go more pink than anything when I blush, so see, pink doesn't mean bad."
"True. So if pink and red aren't always bad, what about white?"

"Well I guess it depends. Some Pures, I'd gladly see bleed and hurt, because they've sat idly and watched as Impures and half bloods suffer more than they could possibly imagine. But not all. I would never dream of seeing Maven bleeding."
