Eva's POV
"So, any ideas about trying to satisfy little Miss Amulet?" Flynn asks, walking into the room as I take a bite out of my breakfast. The newspapers I got out yesterday are spread across the table as if they were a tablecloth; one of these has to have a good enough idea for me to use. "Something that Pures can't ignore": what can I do to fulfil that?

"Yeah, sure, I've just got all these newspapers spread across the table for fun," I groan, rolling my eyes. "What about you, Cas? Cas?" Glancing next to me, I see Cas sleeping in his dragon form on the floor. I told him not to, but he really did spend most of the night keeping an eye on me. Even after I told him several times throughout the night, he still watched closely, fearing an outburst even more than I did.

"Well one of these has to be something good. And if not, we'll have to think of something ourselves," Flynn says, sitting down opposite me. "Huh? This one has Maven's name in it. And that Sammy girl too." Almost knocking my bowl over as I do, I reach across the table and snatch the paper from Flynn's hands. I skim through the article, noticing how it's the same one I read just a few weeks ago. Maven told me the story behind this. And it might just serve as good inspiration.

"Syrin's still the centre for the mining industry in this country, right?" I ask.
"Uh... I think so..."
"And Impures are treated like the scum of the earth there, right?"
"I see where you're going with this," Lucky smirks in the doorway. "We'll take this back to where it all started. To how it all started."
"One Eva Kim originally caused havoc in those mines all those years ago. Looks like another is going to do the same twenty years later."

Flynn looks between the two of us, confused.

"I'll explain it when Cassie and Hunter come in, and when Cas wakes up."

And soon, all of those criteria are met, and I can finally explain my plan.

"Twenty years ago, before the start of the war, my great grandmother and a group of rebels would explode bombs in the mines of Syrin during the night, so the miners got breaks during the day, and to bring a message to the Pures. It's what sparked the start of the war, it was something Pures couldn't ignore," I explain. "So let's do it again."

"But, how would we do it without your dad finding out we're gone?" Cas asks. "Cause if he does, who knows what the queen might do. She could target any one of our family or friends."
"That is a problem... even if he doesn't end up coming here often, he might come whilst we're gone," I sigh.
"We'll just have to make it clear that we'll be back, that we'll be back willingly," Hunter replies. "Because the idea to drag family here, that's mainly a way to get us to come back, it's basically bait. But if we make it clear that the bait won't be necessary, maybe things will go better for us."
"It seems like our only choice," Lucky adds. "We have to do this, we have to get people to understand this is a fight we won't lose, so we can't stay here."

"Listen, Eva especially, I get your point, but going to Syrin to do something like that when none of us have ever been there before, that's just crazy!" Flynn argues. "You're fucking crazy if you think we can pull this off without any help."
"It's the only option though. Nothing will attract attention like this will. We just need someone who knows the place," I murmur.
"Don't we know at least three?" Cas smirks.
"Eh?"

"Maven's family owns the mines, he's bound to know the place. And as for the other two, James and Sammy used to work in the mines, didn't they?"

"Okay, but have you thought about how we're supposed to contact them? I thought you said that Caleb took your communicator," Cassie mentions. "It's not like the earrings can connect to communicators."
"We can use Cassie's right? But then it'll be more difficult to contact Sammy and James."
