It was a cold, cloudy, and foggy morning as Victoria was looking out across the lake. About all she could do was look and wait while every so often taking a sip of her warm drink next to the small campfire. She was laying on her side on a blanket with some loose armor pieces around her and a folded towel.

As the sun was rising she saw a explosion of blue light just below the water surface and a light layer of ice form on its top as Rayan broke through and swam to shore shivering. Victoria threw the towel next to her to him.

"You didn't tell me there would be a frost enchantment on the chest." He said with chatting teeth as he sat next to the fire.

"Maven might of mentioned it." Victoria said snuggling Rayan to warm him up.

"Think you could warm me up more?" He asked.

"You think I want your cold cock inside me?" She said giving him a look.

"Well maybe not cold." He responded.

The both had a brief staring contest before bursting out laughing. Victoria hugged Rayan tighter for more warmth and that was all she did.

"But did you find it?" She asked.

"This quill right?" Rayan asked as he held up the very item.

"Thank you." Victoria said as she took the quill from Rayan. "With this, Maven will actually owe me a favor."

"What are you going to ask?"

"Isn't it obvious?"

"Free mead?" Rayan asked chuckling.

Victoria smiled as she was still holding onto him. "It's for the shadows."

"I know." He said as he moved his cold hand and put it on her neck making her jump a bit.

They both laughed and rested for a while watching the sun rise before Rayan put on his armor and they headed back to Riften.

Rayan went off to the inn to get food while Victoria went to give Maven the quill.

"Thank you. Very rare I've ever come across somebody as reliable as you." Maven expressed her gratitude.

"Thank you Maven. Can I count on your favor then?" Victoria asked.

"Yes, but use it wisely." Maven warned.

"Well, can I use it now?" Victoria asked with a childish smile.

Maven looked back at her with disbelief. "You don't waste time do you?"

Victoria shook her head still with her smile.

"Very well." Maven started. "The shadows are using an orc to intimidate the jarls steward."

Maven continued with information, she had quite a bit for the shadows and the orc had caused her some problems as well. She relied on the guild for several issues that could not be solved through legal means. Maven continued to pour out information to Victoria so long as she knew that it would benefit her.

By the time Maven was done Victoria had felt gratitude for Maven looking into the shadows as well. She got what she needed to find where the orc would be next.

Victoria went over to the inn to tell Rayan. She saw him sitting at a table with somebody standing next to it handing him a piece of paper. As the courier walked off as he was reading she sat down in the chair infront of him.

"What's that about?" She asked him.

"Isran wants me to return to Fort Dawnguard." Rayan said looking at the letter.
