That amount of pain that washed over Rayan was made bearable when he opened his eyes to see his hand on Victoria's cheek and then have her kiss him. Her lips were soft as the kiss was full of relief while the faint smell of juniper and snowberries filled the surrounding air.
"Damn its good to see you again." Rayan said making Victoria laugh as she still held his hand on her cheek this time without her doing it.
"You had me worried." She said as she was smiling at him.
"What happened?" Rayan asked. "I only heard the last part of your story. I'm glad Mercers dead."
"Me too." Victoria said. "What is the last thing you remember?"
Before Rayan was able to answer a medic had walked in the tent.
"Bring water." Victoria turned and ordered the medic who seemed to be intimidated by the thief and ran off to get some water then turned back to him.
"I remember fighting Harkon." Rayan started. "He was a monster nothing like Erik or Serana described." He stopped after saying their names then started tearing up.
"I'm sure they are around her somewhere." Victoria said trying to calm him.
"No." Rayans voice almost broke. "He died fighting and she died in my arms."
The medic had returned with a tray and several tankards and held it close to Victoria as she grabbed one and held it up to Rayan while she took several shaking breaths.
"The suns still out, Harkon doesn't have the bow anymore?" He asked.
"No, Commander Mallory and apparently Skyrims Special Forces brought you and the other dawnguards here." Victoria started. "The sun was out for a few days."
"You told them about the bow?" Rayan asked.
"I did. After I had Delvin track you down I immediately came here and told them about the bow in exchange to see you." Victoria answered. "Isran told them how to use it."
Rayan looked up across the tent to see the grandmaster sitting up looking at him with his fiery angry eyes.
"You need to tell us what happened." Isran said.
"Give him time." Victoria said trying to defend Rayan.
"No, he's right." Rayan said as he tried to sit up with the help of the thief.
Rayan then started his story of what happened with at Fort Dawnguard when they arrived with the bow.

It had been two days since everyone split up and each went their own way. Victoria and Mhara secretly went back to Windhelm to get their horses, Kumeron went back to the College of Winterhold with the Elder Scroll that was taken. Rayan, Erik, and Serana headed back to Fort Dawnguard as they now had the bow and could attack Volkihar Castle ending the vampires plot to darken the sky.
"Let me take the bow." Erik said as he held his hand out for Serana to hand him the bow.
"I'll give you the bow after we let Isran know who has it." Serana responded making Rayan laugh at how she said it.
"Fine." Erik said knowing not to argue with the vampire.
The three walked up to the doors of the fortress and pushed them opened to see Isran standing in the middle shouting at recruits.
"We need to get our horses from Windhelm when this is done." Rayan said as they walked up to Isran.
"Already did." Serana said as she pulled the bow off her back audibly wincing as it burned her hands whenever she held it. "Look what we have."
