Rayan rode his horse up the mountain through one of the hidden paths to Fort Dawnguard. It was around evening when he saw the watchtower, they must have seen him because as he slowed to pass it one of the guards approached him.

"Well well, Master Rayan, word from the fortress is Isran pissed off at you."

"Well Isran can kiss my ass then." Rayan responded

The guard chuckled and then let Rayan through.

It wasn't long before the battlements of the fortress were visible on the setting sun.

The watchmen shouted to open the gate and Rayan stabled his horse and walked up to the door.

On his way up he saw his old master training a group in crossbow and archery practice. An large orc in heavy armor with a large axe across his back. An almost complete opposite of Rayan with his light armor and his sword.

"MASTER DURAK!" He shouted.

The old orc turned around and waved as Rayan jogged over and shook hands with him smiles on both of their faces.

"How are you my young apprentice?" Durak teased Rayan.

Rayan told him of his year long adventure with Mhara. His loving time with Victoria and what happened with the bastard orc. And his time with some contracts he took here and there.

"One of theses days I would love to meet them." Durak said.

"I think Victoria would love it here, for a time, but her domain are in cities and towns mostly." Rayan said smiling as he was thinking about his love. "Mhara on the other hand." He started to laugh. "The gods themselves would have to personally bestow their patience on you. But she is skilled."

Durak chuckled. "I'm probably keeping you. Best you head to the keep I'll see you at dinner."

They shook hands again and Rayan walked up and through the main doors.

There were several groups of both trainees and apprentices all being led by Isran who was calling out names of those who made mistakes including Rayan when he walked in.

"So there you are." Isran said with a growl.

"Here I am." Rayan answered.

"Do explain to me why you weren't here."

Rayan explain what had happened with Victoria and her fight with the orc and her injuries she got from them.

Isran grunted. "Pretty good excuse. Very well then its not like I can punish this because we all are free to leave and can't be kept here. But have you explained this to Erik?"

"Erik saw her." Rayan answered.

"So be it then." Isran said before turning back to make up for his yelling that he missed.

Rayan walked on and found his room. It was a small area fitting a bed shoved in the corner with a filled book shelf on monsters and magics. At its feet a nightstand right next to the bed and a chest under it. The walls were covered with skins and trophy heads from the adventures and contracts that he decided to keep them along with his first monster her ever killed.

A deer skull from a leshen. A big magically enchanted pissed off tree that had the misfortune of meeting him in the forest outside Falkreath. Rayan felt his left bicep, the scar it left after it whipped a tree branch that tore through his armor like paper.

He reminisced for a bit before leaving his room and headed for the dinning hall.

Dinner had started and many dawnguard were already eating. He got his food and to the tables looking for a place to sit.
