Victoria had just finished her dinner when Mhara came up to her.

"Ever done jobs for the Guild outside Riften?" She asked.

"Not really. I mean there was one incident near Windhelm but thats neither here nor there." Victoria answered.

"Well what about Whiterun? Ever been there?" Mhara asked.

"Not to the city itself. You?"

"No. Well actually once when your dumbass Dawnguard you call a lover almost got me killed and then took me to the temple where I was poisoned with several different herbs and toxic potions."

"Bullshit, he saved your arrogant ass."

The two locked eyes for a moment before they started chuckling.

"Yeah, I'll give him that." Mhara said. "But seriously, I want you to come with me to Whiterun. I have a job, and you won't do it with me but I want you there. Plus it be good to get out of the hold and have a change if scenery."

"Ok." Victoria said as she wiped her mouth. "When are we leaving?"

"Right now." Mhara said.

Victoria shrugged then went with Mhara to the stables. They mounted and rode for Whiterun.

They made light conversation as they traveled through the mountain pass past the ruins of Helgen then Riverwood with Whiterun in sight as they rode down hill.

It was dark out and they could see the lights from the city shinning.

They passed by the Honningbrew Meadery and a few farms before they made it to the stables dodging several transport and shipping wagons.

They hitched their horses and walked the rest of the way.

"So whats your job here?" Victoria asked.

"Helping at the meadery." Mhara said vaguely. "I'm suppose to meet with someone at the inn tonight then go to the meadery tomorrow."

They entered the gates and walked to the inn, past the blacksmith and the market.

The inn was empty as the innkeeper was wiping down the bar and the barmaid was sweeping.

"Here." Mhara said handing Victoria a pouch of gold. "Get two rooms." Then proceeded to walk in to the back room of the inn then closed the door behind her.

Victoria walked to the bar.

"What can I get you?" The innkeeper said.

"Two rooms and a sweetroll and an apple."

"I'll show you to your rooms, right this way." The innkeeper said as she handed Victoria a plate with her food on it.

Victoria put the apple in her pocket and ate the sweet roll as she followed the innkeeper.

The inn was large and certainly cleaner than the inn in Riften. She was both nervous and excited to explore the city.

"Here is one room." The innkeep pointed out then walked a few feet to the other room. "And here is the second."

"Thank you." Victoria said as she handed the plate to the innkeep and went back to the first room.

She was impressed with what she saw.

It was a large open room with a few chests of drawers, a nightstand, bookshelf, large double bed, a washbasin with fresh water, and a balcony that looked over the main floor.

Victoria then explored every inch of the room, looking through the drawers, under the bed, behind the chests and nightstands.

Nothing of interest except for a few coins here and there and some books for entertainment.
