Rayan had fully recovered after the dragon fights and Kumeron had fully healed himself and ready to head to the cave Victoria pointed out.
He got up and strted towards the cave seeing that there were some falmer standing outside it roaming.
Rayan made his way down the hill and drew his sword when he got close to the falmer and cut down the twisted monster on one swing. It bones crunched as it collapsed dead on the ground while the other must have heard him and rushed at Rayan blindly swinging its weapon. He dodged the first strike and parried the second right as Serana planted and ice spike in between its eyes. Then they all walked into the cave.
It seemed small and carved out of ice and rock with a pathway of snow that lead to a large open canyon when they walked to the end of it.
"Shit." Mhara said to herself impressed by the opening.
Rayan couldn't deny the ominous beauty of the canyon however he did notice their first problem.
"There is a troll down there." Erik pointed at the troll bent over drinking out of the large body of the water at the bottom of the canyon.
"Yeah." Rayan said. "However the water in front of us is too deep to wade through."
"You forget master hunter." Kumeron said as he stepped forward and struck the water turning it into ice. "Quickly now the spell wont last long."
Everyone crossed the solid surface quickly to the other side hoping that the troll wouldn't notice them.
Rayan looked back too see the ice turn back to water then looked forward towards only to instinctively flinch and dodge as an arrow flew right past into the snow at Seranas feet. Two falmer had started attacking the troll ignoring or not hearing the group near them. When they killed the troll they went back to where they came from.
"Poor thing." Serana said aloud. "I mean it would have tried to kill us, but still."
Rayan walked forward past the now dead troll while Erik knelt down by it.
"If they are blind, why the hell are they using bows then?" The dawnguard apprentice asked any who would give an answer.
"Who knows." Victoria said the only one to answer. "But lets be thankful they can't aim properly."
"That can be a bad thing." Mhara said as she walked past the knelt down dawnguard.
Rayan continued on walking to the spot the falmer disappeared to with his sword drawn as he saw openings in the canyon wall similar to the ones in Darkfall Cave. Eventually the group came up to a makeshift bridge that looked like it was made out of crustacean shell.
"I wouldn't trust their architecture." Serana said.
Rayan nodded in agreement. "Neither would I but it looks like we don't have a choice." As he put his foot on the bridge and pressed down with his weight to see if it would hold.
To his surprise the bridge didn't even move or creak, it felt like it was frozen in place so Rayan went up it preparing for it to collapse. Again to his surprise it didn't when he was at the top he looked around then turned and held out his hand to help whoever was next.
Victoria ran up the bridge swiftly and lightly like a thief about to start scaling a wall and grabbed his hand and was pulled up. Rayan saw she was smiling the entire time as he pulled her to the top and they both prepared to help the next.
Erik came over and got in the position to give a boost as Mhara walked over. Rayan grabbed one shoulder while Victoria grabbed the other and pulled her up as Rayan made a obnoxious grunting sound like he was lift something heavy. Mhara stuck her tongue out at him as he chuckled then moved to the side to stay out of the way of the others.
