The past couple of days had been more stressful than anything Victoria had ever gone through. She knew her and Mhara would still have to go to Winterhold and meet with Karliah but she felt peace as if there was nothing looming over her. She was ready to get back and deal with the Thieves Guild but she didn't feel stressed about it.

All she did for now was sit at a bench that was near the Temple of Kynareth as she rested her head on Rayans shoulder as he had his arm around her and held her. Her neck hurt and body ached but she was happy to be with him.

Rayan kissed the top of her head and slowly rubbed up and down her arm. "What are you thinking about?"

"Its strange, this brief peace of not having to worry about anything for now. Is this how you feel in between contracts?" She asked.

"Sometimes, but mostly I think about you or what next to eat or drink. Sometimes it's about Erik, Mhara, or how some friends are doing." Rayan responded.

"I think about you everytime before I fall asleep." She told him.

"How so?"

"Mostly how happy I would be if you were next to me when I wake up."

"Sorry to disappoint."

"Never, I understand what you do and that you have your own things to do."

"Yeah, I understand that as well. But it doesn't mean I don't miss you."

"Very true."

They sat in silence enjoying each others company as Victoria looked around at everyone passing by them, the priests coming to relax by the tree or merchants and nobles coming from the jarls palace.

"What is this tree called? This one we're sitting in front of?" Victoria asked finally breaking the silence.

Rayan looked behind him in a quick study of the tree. "The gilder green or something similar. Its and old tree that Durak and I took a contract on for Danica when I was still an apprentice."

Victoria sat and listened as Rayan continued then finished as they still sat together and enjoyed their time together.

"So who is this this Kirena that cut the rope? I saw her go to that building over there." Victoria pointed to Jorrvaskr without realizing it. It was only her second time in Whiterun she didn't know all the places names yet just what they did or what they had when she broke in them to explore.

Rayan then told her the building and who was in there then he spoke of what Kirena did for him and why he helped her.

There was a brief pause after he finished talking.

"Are you ok?" Rayan asked his tone had turned serious. He knew the only time Victoria was so quiet was when she was on a job.

"I almost died." She finally said. "And I couldn't have done anything about it." Her voice started breaking. "If you hadn't been there or if-" Her voice broke into a sob as Rayan then pulled her in and she started crying in his shoulder.

"Don't. Don't do that to yourself." He said as he held her.

Victoria didn't say anything or didn't try to, all she did was cry and held onto him. After a while she felt another hand on her shoulder but didn't look until she could calm herself a bit then turned to see Mhara standing there with tears in her eyes. Victoria then forcefully grabbed her arm and pulled her in for a hug.

After the tears dried and they calmed down the three sat together on the bench as evening started to set in.

"I feel the strong urge to have a drink now." Mhara said.
