Chapter 30

Having arrived at Halmeoni's diner,Hyejin,Taehyung and Keegan had quickly settled into one of the many comfortable cushioned booths.

"Thank you."Hyejin smiled at the waitress as she passed them the menus.Glancing over the few mouth watering dishes,Hyejin placed the menu down and sighed,not knowing what she wanted.

Taehyung chuckled softly at Hyejin then at Keegan who looked at his mother with a tilted head in confusion.

"I recommend the marinated chicken and beef combo with a side of French fries.It's halmeoni's best seller."Hyejin smiled gratefully at Taehyung as he ordered their meals.

"What drink would you like ma'am?"the waitress asked.

"Just water for both of us,thank you."

She then looked at Taehyung who nodded.

"Same."

After writing down their orders,the waitress retreated back into the kitchen with their orders in hand.

"You know,I'm kind of surprised that no one has come screaming or running up to us yet and for once my day has been rather peaceful."

Taehyung nodded,fiddling with his thumbs on the table.

"The area around here is less busy and is more calm than out there.Not many people come here despite Halmeoni's being a very popular dining area."he replied.

"Mama,"Keegan called softly.

Hyejin turned to her son,a smile tugging on her lips as her hair swished softly with her movement.Her left hand rising up to run through his silky locks.

"Yes,baby?"she asked softly.

"When will I see daddy?"

Hyejin's smile dropped and her hands stopped in its position,remaining tangled in his hair as tears slowly formed.

Taehyung looked up from his phone,looking in between the two before him.He could feel the tension that hung like a heavy vail around them.He could feel the anticipation that Keegan had for his mother's answer.He could feel how he wanted to feel love from his father.For despite having his mother's unwavering attention and love,he wanted to feel the love from a father too.He wanted to feel complete.And he could completely understand Keegan.He wanted the love of a father.

Hyejin inhaled sharply.He could feel that the question was a stab to the heart.Taehyung already knew her whole story.And if he were her,he would have done the same.She had their best chance in mind.She didn't want to leave.But she didn't want them hurt either.

So she left.

And her decision haunted her every second of everyday.Especially since she carried his child.Keegan was the constant reminder of him.He was the constant reminder of what she tried to leave behind for all their sakes.

Hyejin smiled sadly,running her hands through his hair once more as she pulled him into a hug,his face squished against her chest.She tilted her head up and blinked rapidly,hoping that tears wouldn't fall for the second time that day.

"Soon,baby.Soon.You'll see daddy soon."she whispered against his hair,planting kisses on the crown of his head.

"Ma'am here are your dishes.Do enjoy your meal."the waitress said kindly before rushing off to attend to other customers.

"Mommy,I want to go home."Keegan whispered.

Hyejin nodded slowly,letting a smile adorn her face once more.

She called the waitress to then pack their food whilst they paid.

"Go to the car with uncle,Keegan.Mommy needs to go to the bathroom."
